of 1997. Thanks! This year will be the ninth time in succession I visit
Le Mans, a pilgrimage I hope I can continue for the next few ages.....

I'm sure I'll visit your site some more times before june 14/15 this year!!!!

Maybe I'll see you there (a bunch of silly Dutchmen having the times of
our lives in the company of many thousands of crazy Brits - wonderful
experience every year).

GREAT WORK PEOPLE!!!KEEP IT UP.I AM 33 YEARS OLD AND 1996 WAS MY FIRST YEAR....AND IT SURE AS HECK WILL NOT BE MY LAST. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT LIVING IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IS NOT COOL. LAST YEAR IT TOOK ME ABOUT FOUR MONTHS TO GET TICKETS (THEY ACTUALLY NEVER ARRIVED AND WE HAD TO GET DUPLICATES IN FRANCE ON THE DAY OF THE RACE)... I HOPE 1997 WILL BE A LOT LESS DIFFICULT....ANYWAY, I WILL BE IN TOUCH.

AGAIN, MANY THANKS,AND I WILL SEE YOU AT THE RACES!!

For anybody interested in a bit of history returning to Le Mans in '97,
the Bentley Drivers Club are bringing approximately 120 vintage Bentleys
to the event this year, celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Bentley
win in 1927. Included in the gathering will be some of the original
Team Cars from '27! We're going to be let loose on the Circuit for an
hour or so on the Saturday morning so the smell of Castrol R together
with the whine of 3-litre back axles should be much in evidence!
See you there!

Hardcore Le Mans lover. First race I ever attended, back in 1972.
Stood in a TV tower on the Mulsanne Straight during practice,
watching those Matra's going by. Have been back 6 more times

around the track. Obstructs the view, otherwise has the same
old magic, totally enhanced by "Radio Le Mans".

WOW - this is a vey good site.

I've been to Le Mans every year since 1990 and still wear my faded Silk Cut
T-Shirt each time I go.

This year the JCC (Jaguar Car Club) will have a bit of a presence there, so
if anybody should see us there, please feel free to introduce yourself and
have a chat and a beer. Look out for us in our JCC T-Shirts etc.. some will
be staying in the campsite and some in a nearby hotel, so keep your eyes
pealed.

Personally I am a phtsics student at Sheffeild University. My Dad owns an
E-Type, which we take to Le Mans each year. Last weekend we went to the
JCC track day at MIRA and had alot of fun...... Both me and Dad spun it!!!! At the same corner!!!!!!

Anyway I'll stop boring you. See ya.

I have been going to the race for the last 14 years and just wish that
there had been such information around instead of finding out the hard way.

well done

Ps for people travelling from Calais or Le Harve, watch out for the police
on the road about 3 miles out of Bernay. They dont use radar and just have
a guess my fine was 3300 francs!!

coverage of LeMans and sports car racing in general. Just NASCAR...quit

the Indy 500 T shirts, with the massive beer cooler at the Mercier
Champaign bar in the village on Saturday lunch time. Hey, listen to

Great website! I'm glad to see that so many people read it and obviously
have an (understandable) interest in this terrific event. I must say,
at the beginning of each year it is one of the first dates to go in my
new diary!!

Do you and your readers know that the ACO have introduced a special
membership category for people who are avid fans of the 24 Heures?
For the paltry sum of FF495 you get to be a member of the ACO and
can then get discounts on your Le Mans tickets - up to six at FF80
discount each, get access to the ACO members enclosure in the village,
can get seats in the ACO grandstand, get a year's breakdown cover
anywhere in France, etc. etc.

I came across this intersting phenomonen by accident a few years ago,
and have definately saved a fortune since joining the ACO.

If anybody wants further information, just e-mail me or fax me. I
brought back plenty of English versions of the ACO's brochure for
"Le Mans Club 24" from the pre-qual weekend.

Keep up the good work. See you in June.

Peter Wear.
