00.20 Safety cars still out Pescatori suggest that the new section is causing the punctures. But the Knight Hawk Lola is coming back on a truck

00.23 the race restarts

00.24 Prodrive Ferrari Rydell stays in the car, so far no problems for Prodrive other than the radio. 2nd 3rd and 4th are all on the same lap. It seems the 4th place car has stopped on the circuit with no drive. PK has closed the door.

00.34 McKeller has gone straight on at Arnage is being turned round then continues. There is a god race developing for 4th, Bentley, Dallaras, the 6 Cadillac, Riley & Scott, Dome and the 18 Courage Pescarolo.
The Spyker and Morgan are now 37th and 38th

00.39 Tinseau is very close to Berretta for 6th. The Kondo Dome is having its brakes bled.

00.50 The Bentley completes another stop as the Cadillac of Tinseau as Berretta stopped at the same time as the Bentley, this race for 4th is developing.

00.56 The battle for GTS continues as it has from the start; the Ferrari is still leading the Corvette by 2 laps with Freon and Goueslard close behind. GT is still Freisinger from the Racers Group but Riccitelli in the Seikel car is now third.
The 675 class still has an MG in the lead Bailey having just passed the out Hughes car into 11th but Jack Cunningham reports that the engine on this car is fragile. He is pleased with the performance of the 26 car but points out it was only 8 hours. Behind the MG the battle for 2nd in class is very close between the 29 Reynard and WR.

01.03 The 2 Audi has a front right puncture and it loses 2nd place but the puncture occurred one lap before it was due to stop.
The Morgan has had a routine stop and is 38th behind the Spyker. But again they have had to clear the front wings which is building up in the front wings. The rubber is damaging the wiring for the headlights and they have no main beam. They are using a very soft compound and this is picking up the marbles.
The film the Leader is now 10 laps in front of the Vaillante.

01.18 The three Audi comes in on schedule but drives straight into the garage. The rear bodywork comes off and is changed to the night bodywork.

01.21 the Auto Palace Ferrari is travelling very slowly with a right rear puncture.

01.23 the Riley & Scott comes in for Fuel tyres and a driver change to Didier Theys.
The 1 Audi stops 4 laps early and changes driver to Pirro. The MDB Panoz is still going but fairly slowly with fairly regular extra long stops, it is now three laps behind the Morgan. The Spyker is in the Garage having rear end repairs.
The Lammers Dome has now passed the Theys Riley& Scott and is now back up to 7th lapping nearly 10 seconds a lap faster than Berretta ahead. Kristensen Believes it is the Gravel in the traps that is particularly sharp. The high temperatures also do not help and there is considerable build up of marbles from the soft tyres, which several cars are using.

01.44 The 11 Panoz goes back out but is 71 laps behind 43rd and last but after the all nighter it has become a matter of honour to get through to the finish. The engine has been stripped and a head gasket replaced. The other Panoz is still circulating regularly in the hands of Donohue.
In GT Luhr is lapping about 10 seconds a lap faster than the Freisinger car ahead but his co-drivers are unable to maintain his pace, The Rosa Porsche is still 3rd in class.

01.52 Lammers completes another fuel only stop. Theys in the Riley & Scott is not lapping much faster than Mathews who has driven very well as he does not usually drive the night time stints.

01.54 Helary brings the 18 Courage into the pits after two spins on consecutive laps and drives straight into the garage There is some smoke from the right rear.

01.57 another safety car period as there is oil on the entry to Indianapolis possibly from the 18 Courage, which is still being, worked on in its pit garage. McGarrity is about to move up to 10th as he passes the stationary Courage which now has its bodywork back in place. The crew are cleaning the car in its garage and it looks as if it is out.

At 02.00 the marshals are laying cement from before Indianapolis all the way to Arnage. The order is; Biela, Herbert, Werner, Wallace, Angelleli, Lamy, Lammers, Theys, Sarrazin and McGarrity.
The fourth Audi with Dalmas at the wheel is now back to 12th. No change in GTS Ferrari Corvette Corvette. In GT Dumas leads Luhr and Rosa. Morgan and Spyker still running. Baddies still leading goodies by nearly 10 laps Herta in the 11 Panoz is now second from the back. The Morgan crew are going to take the car into the garage in an attempt to solve the light problem. The Spyker is still running 10 hours into the race. The Riley & Scott has had a front disc change on its last stop.
