Finally at 18.10 Kristensen does his stop-go. The Kondo Dome has a problem with third gear so they are going to change the cog according to Ian McKeller and Lammers takes over the Racing for Holland Dome. At 18.14 the ROC Reynard number 28 visits the gravel at Dunlop and Herbert stops and stays in for a fourth stint. 18.20 the Ferrari 360 JMB number 70 is withdrawn after its front end damage. The Ascari had a rear suspension failure and went off at 200 mph. The race is now settling down with the animals going two by two but Four Audi's then two MGs, two Dallaras then the Lammers Dome. The Bentley is still 14th behind Mathews in the Riley and Scott. The number 6 Cadillac is 11th but the other is still in the pits with a "new" starter problem. At 18.30 the Cadillac returns now in 33rd place. Both the film cars are still running in 40th and 41st with the baddies still leading. 18.38 Mathews has a big moment at the Porsche curves but after a longish delay gets back to the pits where it is refuelled and gets new tyres. Mathews stays in and there appears to be no damage. The Knight Hawk Lola and the Panoz with Magnussen is now back out and running Donohue in the other car is now 13th. The Kondo Dome also leaves the pits again after its gearbox repair at 18.48 Migault now at the wheel; he has the most Le Mans starts in this year's race. Angelleli has problems starting the 6 Cadillac and needs a precautionary squirt with extinguisher. Both MGs had slow stops with minor problems to sort but the Bailey car has now dropped to 14th. Hughes has passed the Dalmas Audi and is now 4th behind the three works Audi. The Bentley is up to 11th a few feet behind Lammers in the Dome, The Prodrive Ferrari had a problem at its last stop when a new steering wheel was fitted as the two way radio was only one way, Rydell is running in 17th a minute and a quarter in front of Fellows. The Freisinger Porsche 25th heads Warnock in GT and the Spyker is now up to 33rd and the Morgan is running well in 47th. At 19.00 Pescatori at last replaces Herbert in the lead Audi and Rydell stays in the Ferrari for a second stint the first dual stint in the front engined car. Lammers is going very quickly in the Dome and has left the Bentley well behind and has just re-passed the leading Dallara to go 6th. The baddies lead the film race by 6 seconds. 19.15 Hughes has just done a 3.38.917 in the 4th place MG its fastest lap of the race so far. IN GTS the Fellows Corvette now leads the class after an early stop by Rydell when the steering wheel was replaced but the Corvette is about to stop. At the Spyker's last stop there seemed to be a lot of oil on the back of the car but it left without any attention so this may have been road dirt. The Morgan with Richard Hay driving is now 45th. The PK stop was not the usual swift affair as it left with an oil canister still attached but is still 3rd in class. 19.28 Lammers does the Dome's quickest lap before his stop. 19.38 The film cars stop together and both are pushed into the garage probably to load the cameras. 19.41 The Audi number 2 has a puncture in the left rear tyre at Terte Rouge At Mulsanne the tyre is beginning to damage the rear bodywork The number 1 car comes in for its routine stop now well in the lead. The number 3 Audi is now second having at one time been last. The Alphand Porsche has a second rear left puncture. The two Audi is losing time as the mechanics try to clear the rubber from the suspension. The damage to body work was minimal so a new tail section was not fitted. Once more Audi have managed to get a damaged car back to the pits. The car came back into the pits and then left again after replacing a front tyre. He is now third in the Audi class. Pescatori and Kane in the MG are now two laps behind the leader and Leitzinger has brought the Bentley up to 9th behind the two Dallaras At 20.00 the top ten are; Pirro, Werner, Pescatori, Kane, Ara, Lammers, Minassian, Berretta, Leitzinger and Bouillon the first top 10 for Pescarolo. The other works MG is 13th and the best Panoz 14th Jeannette at the wheel. Enge in the Ferrari is still class leader 15 seconds ahead of the O'Connell in the Corvette. The Freisinger Porsche is still 25th leading the GT class and PK are still 3rd Piers Maserati now driving. The Spyker is still going in 35th and the Morgan now 43rd Stanton driving.
