And sadly, I think CA as a forum suffers as a result.
Not long ago we'd have had a bit of a laugh with some flaky replies, a few horror stories would be told (and a few would be made up). Someone might even have remembered that one of their party had never returned. At best, foreverlemans would have had a bit of banter with other members. At worst, we'd have scared the sh1t out of him.

So, just for old times sake....

Foreverlemans, it's great to hear from you. seven years eh! well done mate. However, under no circumstances can I recommend camping or even caravanning at Le Mans, I've done it 33 times now, and it's a f*****g nightmare. On Maison Blanche there's a gang of terrorists (no way are they nouveau terrorists either, I believe it was their 10th year last year) who send suicide bombers into tents at random. Sometimes they've got explosives strapped to their midriffs, sometimes bangers wrapped around their todgers. Other times it's just Drambuie. I've only just received my best friends ear in the post, - it's all the ACO could find of him. I shed a little tear when I saw it still had one of my earplugs in it. I also have another friends pen1s in my hands now, rolling it like a piece of plasticene.

Blue Nord is even worse, in 2003 you'd have beeen lucky to get away without a good buggering, and good buggerings are hard to find these days. It's only recently had its name changed to 'Blue Nord', back in the eighties, if I remember rightly, it was Camping Red Raw Anus, or something like that.

There's ghosts on Karting Nord, pyromaniacs on Tetre Rouge, Barber-surgeons near the Porsche Curves and a yearly conference and Exposition is held on Beausejour for the alarmingly combined complaint of Tourettes Explosive Incontinence, or TEI as me and my fellow victims like to call it. Those boys can throw a party alright.

There's even a campsite for Newcastle supporters.

Perhaps we could meet up for a pint?

H

Hi Mike, - swim was quite tiring, it feels like I've still got my budgie smugglers on! Plenty seals, but no sharks, thankfully.
I took this photo from the 'landing point'. I don't think I'd do it again....

Hi foreverlemns,
other than the TEI and reference to a party I would not believe any of what H said Cool
If I told you H rode to Le Mans on a bicycle after swimming the channel you probably would not believe me either...... Grin
camping is great fun.
