I still think everyone has completely missed the boat on the JLOC entry and Le Mans participation.
allow me to explain.
I'm a rich Japanese businessman. I'm a member of the Japanese Lambroghini Owners Club.
I'm asked by our treasurer to pony up "X" yen for a wonderful trip to Le Mans.
So me and 50 of my best friends do just that. One of us writes a lovely letter to the ACO
asking to compete in there wonderful race. We are Japanese (they really want us there)
We have a GT1 car (ok, so it hasn't run yet, but we'll get to that) With our entry we get
tickets, a block of grandstand seats, a hospitality suite overlooking the pits, a chef, parking
spaces, etc.
so the car doesn't make practice, hey we're working here, so we don't qualify, (see french
love us above) We were on the grid and all had our pictures taken with the car. After our
first (and only lap) our entry retires, damn shame, so, up into the hospitality suite for sushi
and crepes, plenty of time to walk the grounds, a place to sit in the tribunes...
sh*t sounds like a great day at the races to me.
I don't see the problem. have you looked at the cost of a group package for 50 that includes
this kind of access??
see, really quite simple.
