As a non-attender I just wanted to gauge peoples' reactions to the CA Camp on Blue Nord (particularly from the people who were on it ) Will it happen again, bigger and better next year, or do people have other plans in mind? It's never to early to start planning you know! Feel free to add comments regarding what was good and bad about it.

If it gets bigger and better I fear many of us will be arrested, in hospital, or dead rather than returning back to Blighty at the end of the weekend as happy healthy (kind of) people.

I agree, the devil on my left shoulder thinks bring it on and lets do it again... The angel is saying never again - I don't know what to make of it all just yet, I think I need to continue to reflect.

The only drawback I can see is that you can't say your farewells to everyone. Well you could be you would be there till a week next Tuesday.
In another thread someone said not so many CA shirts about this year. Well I think they were all concentrated in BN.

We had our base camp within sight of the brethren, melans, dfh ... it was great to be able to walk over iwth a beer in your hand anytime - as far as campsite atmosphere is concerned it was one of the best LM ever - and I'm going there since 1985!
Bleu Nord was a first one for me and all of us were positive surprised: A nice lawn, so no deep see camping when it rained, the toilets were really kept clean and I do have the impression that security was excellent - didn't see a single pikey and haven't heard of someone being robbed.

Rob, are you familiar with the work of 16th century artist Hieronymous Bosch? Well it was very like the Garden of Earthly Delights above. It was terrific fun of course, but Doris is right, someone's going to end up dead if this carries on. I'm utterly exhausted and smashed to pieces.

I have been to many CA gatherings over the years and seen many strange things but in my wildest dreams I never thought I'd ever see a grown man with a live crab gaffer taped to his bollocks

I must say the entertainment from the next door neighbours was interesting at times.......especially ther crab!!!!!! It seemed to me that nobody wanted to be outdone and therfore a number of out compatriates ...I think by Sunday were a little burnt out.....but hey ho thats what it is all about ,after all we are all there for one reason.........the race.......everything else is incidental ,or is it a side show LOL Only a couple of moans......only because I am slowly turning into a grumpy old man,iit would be nice if the music perhaps was turned down a bit at say around 3am and not blaring until 5am.I do appreciate the younger generation do have a tad mor stamina than me The other moan was the torture chamber showers......................"what no hot water"............Neil and I nearly had heart attacks....the water must have been fed through DFH's a beer pump ,it was that cold.

Even if anybody was sober enough at the time to use a camera, we were laughing so much it would have been out of focus. But just imagine the scene, you realise that some one is behind you, you turn, and there is a bloke dressed is his underpants. You then realise that emerging from each side is a claw. No, it's not a terrible mutation, it's ***** with a live crab down his pants. I'm not saving the crab abusers blushes, it's just that I was so wrecked I am confused which one of two people it was. It does not take much imagination to draw up the short list though. Jeremy RIP.
