Just noticed that there's a programme on the history of the Isle of Man TT on the telly tonight, ITV4 from 20:00 to 21:00, also action from the races tomorrow at 21:00 until 22:00.  Should be a good view for those of us not checking/packing the camping equipment ready for the trip over to LM.

The TV guide write up quotes Barry Sheene - 'I rode there once, this is not racing, it's a suicide mission'  'nuf said I think!

Happy viewing.

I used to work in the hospital there. As a Radiographer.

I have a few stories.

The best one isn't about a biker though, it's about a rather confused lonely chap who shoved the tinfoil from a kitkat down his erm, third eye.

And how only 1/2 of it came out again.

The TT makes strapping yourself into a 30-40 year old rallycar, in the woods, seem like a totally sensible idea !

Balls of steel thsose lads.........makes a GpB S4 Delta seem a bit 'soft'?

The locals are getting fed up wih it, as there's a fatality every year  But hell, you've got to go somehow, and if you want to take a the risk of killing yourself its fine by me.

I think the Nuttiest of all are the sidecar "passengers", thats extreme sport. Must make an effort to go before it gets banned.

I had a passenger ride on a sidecar outfit when I was over there, round the Jurby circuit.

Borrowed jacket, gloves, and lid, none of which fitted properly. A 10 second briefing, and off we set.

I

have

NEVER

been

so

frightened.
