My Dad is picking Lord Steve & me up from Carrefour next Thursday afternoon. Is it possible to get to Houx from Carrefour via Chemin aux Beoufs without going via MB etc?

Yes

At the roundabout at tetre rouge turn left but do not join the main road but turn right straightaway down a small single track road alongside the tetre rouge bar (Stella bar) then turn right and go under the bridge. This is the road alongside Houx Annex and leads to Houx.

Many thanks Simon, that's what I thought. I just needed it confirming.

However, I think the road down past Houx Annexe 'may' be blocked by the ongoing stadium construction.

That may be a problem!

How sure are you steve? we arrive on wednesday and would use that route into the Annexe site, if its blocked we wil have a problem and will end up flogging round to the other side of the track.

I only mention this as I have previously seen some pictures of the ongoing stadium works.  One showed a gate across the road off the HA roundabout heading back towards the Stella Bar.

Thats a bummer, will also affect our getaway Sunday as we used to just be able to nip onto the motorway, if we go the other way towards Basejour the traffic will be manic.

maybe they will have thought of that and have a plan

This does look like the road from the 2nd roundabout around the back of the annex towards the tram station (where the Friday antics take place). The "main" single track back road between Houx annex and the track appears to be unaffected (I hope).

I think I will stick with the normal route in. If I get lost and some id**t in an Audi, Pug or Aston wants to pass they will just have to wait till I turn off!

I have found the ACO access map for this year which I downloaded a while ago, and it shows that there is access from the N138. I've attached a copy as the ACO has just updated it's website & the link is gone.

Good luck!
Will proceed with plan A.

(there is no plan B)

Message from Delboy - IT IS CLOSED!

Carry on down towards Tours, at the first r/bt, turn right and this will take you to the Houx roundabout (hope that makes sense.)

It would appear that then that there is no access to the Houx roundabout from the Stella Bar when the Route de Tours is closed to the public.
