Is it the old bar in the funfair area? There was a row of about three of them, all in old sheds. If so, it's now been demolished as another curcuit "improvement".

'fraid not Andy, well wide of the mark. You're right about it being demolished now though. They used to serve the coffee in a bowl, holding about a pint. That got the eyelids twitching. H

Remember the first year I went in 81 and it was with Page & Moy, one of these was over by their coach park not far from Houx and I too experienced the massive rush that is one of those bowls of coffee - mega!!
Having said that I think this is/was at the top end of the village, circa 1992

Getting closer, at least we're on the right side of the track now. The photo was taken earlier than 92, but I reckon the bar must have been there a good few years before.
Isn't rummaging around with old photos time consuming? I found quite a few bar photos, problem is, there's always a dangerously drunk dood or two right in the middle of the shot.
I also came across lots of shots of worried looking mechanics in tents in the rain.
And you tell the kids of today that etc etc...

Looking closer at the surfer dude type attire, this must have been around 1985. No further ideas on location though, they all tend to merge into one big blur in the old memory bank!

It was certainly the era of White Sock Man. Usually worn with black shoes, trainers in this case tho. I don't know about anywhere else, but boy were white socks popular in Birmingham in the mid eighties. Where are they now?
I just don't recognise this bar whatsoever, but feel that I should. I presume it was down the bottom end of the village but before the pits/paddock. Didn't you used to need a special ticket to get down so far? If it's wehere I assume it is, I think there is a tented bar there now.

I reckon that's about good enough Andy. A crackerjack suppository is winging it's way to you now.
That whole area was (sadly) re-jigged when the new pits complex was built. I reckon this bar was about where the double gates in the chain link fence to the paddock are now; about half way up the pits. As it was the nearest one to old pits/paddock it was easy to spot teams/drivers having a splash and dash here. It was usually our first port of call on the Friday night "Let's go out and get so pissed we eat at the Bierkeller naked" session.
My memory is failing and bent, but I reckon this was taken in '87. Jane Fonda had a lot to answer for. H

Are you sure it's a bar???
None of the mincing denim queens seem to have a beer!!!
I think it looks like the food stall almost opposite the Champers bar. I seem to remember triping on the uneven steps after a few jars. But I also seem to remember that it was still there earlier this year, so I guess I'm clutching at some very thin and unsteady straws...

Just scrolling up and down the page (as you do) and the changing back and forth between Erta and Knighthawk Girl is all a little disturbing and slightly surreal (especially if you do it really fast!!) .. oo-er missus!
