I am thinking of taking the old golf bats this year. I spotted a a field with sandy pits and green patches with flags in at the bottom of the M.S. So if you fancy a knock or know anything about the course Let me know.

The Welsh boys we bought the Popemobile off said they always has a couple of rounds on the Monday and Tuesday locally. I will give them a call and see where it was they played. I might bring my bats too.. they are covered in chicken sh*t after being in the shed with our feathered friends. Might help me play better Grin

We went there a few years ago but it's not much of a course and the fees tend to get rather steep closer to the weekend.

Here's the layout anyway:

We played at the Golf du Belleme last year on Friday, nice ondulated course, not expensive and clean restrooms, hot showers.
About a 45 min drive though.

This year we'll try this course a bit closer to Le Mans.

Most of our golf playing team members arrive on the Thursday, so we'll be playing on Friday.

The Sargé-lès-le-Mans course is not far from St Saturnin also, so one could combine it with a visit to the Classic British Welcome.

Will give them a call in a week or 2 to make sure we can play.
Last year we nearly missed out on playing because of a tournament being played at Golf du Belleme.

Team Zarse have an annual golf tournament at the crazy golf place in Deauville on the monday lunchtime. Except last year as we weren't in Deauville. And nor are we this year either.  Sad Anyone know if there's one near Le Havre?

The golf at Mulsanne has competitions through the week on Wednesday through Friday so no chance of playing there. Le Mans Golfier is run by english people so no language barrier and is at Sargé lès le Mans, a couple of stops further round the ring road from the D338 north near Auchan. However, if it was me and I wanted to play an absolutely superb golf course, one of the best maintained in France, I'd go to Sablé, about 45 mins west from Le Mans. Built 20 years ago by a billionaire to amuse himself, it has 27 holes and a "compact" that would test the patience of a top pro. It has only 150 members and is truly manicured, always in top condition. To top it all, food to die for if you want the real restaurant and not the bar food (which is also excellent). As always in France, choose your own level of difficulty and tees. I play off 5 so am used to the back tees, but I'd advise the yellows if it is a fun round. They speak english.

Oh, but just a thought but you never heard it from me though. If, before the road closes on Thursday you go to the golf course at Mulksanne you could be locked in right on the bend for the practice later Shocked  There is a back road out which leads back to the Beauséjour roundabout too.
