The Courbe is the place we met at the Classic, Werner - just by the pit exit, below the Dunlop bridge in the village. A good view of the track (if catch-fencing bound) from the banking by the bar.
Edit : Don't know where the Guiness bar is though?

Thanks Termie, now I know - I just never knew the name "The Courbe". IMHO this is the perfect location for a CA meet, more spacious than the place we had last year at the poo bar, you can drink, talk to other CA-ers and watch the race, all at the same time - and for those who really need to visit the concert it's just a short walk over the Dunlop bridge to the stage. I'll vote for it!

Courbe Bar gets my vote as well, tired of either lugging bottles of champagne to the poo bar, or trying to get a mortgage to buy one there.

Stranglers?
not musically my scene, maybe more like RexonaPeeyanna for me
get me a Beatles/Clapton Wilberries concert and I'd forget the noisy cars
So
Which side of the track is the Courbe? Is it near the new supersexy Megawelcome bar that looks down into the pits from above the exit lane?
The Guinness bar I seem to recall was downhill in the village from the Poo Bar, am I wrong, was I pididdled at the time?
I votes "notatthePooBar"

Inside, Bill. I expect you know it, just not its name. Go through the tunnel from the main exit and turn immediately left. There it is. There is also a hatch selling snacks and another doing full meals. Another couple of things in its favour : 1) Good loos right next door 2) the surrounding area is open to all so bringing your own booze isn't the smuggling operation it always seemed to be a the 'poo bar.

The Guiness bar was at the top of the village on the inner track at the right, however its not always the Guiness bar, large roundish with wooden floor , it wasnt in 2006. However it was really rocking last year.
Is the Courbe bar the one diagonally opposite and between 2 buildings just up from the toilets.
I'll be at the Guiness bar after the stranglers anyway (which are on the other side of the track well out of earshot.

The Guiness bar was fantastic last year. Most of Saturday afternoon and evening was spent in there and it was, as Redstu said, ROCKING I seem to recall Steve Z making a spectacular entrance to the dancefloor in a bin, a photographer getting Zarsed and rather alot of nudity and foolish behaviour. Marvelous!

"onnacountofnot" wanting the poobar again I voted for the Courbe Bar
But some of youse chappses and chapsesess better be responsible for steering me there
Debs I dont THINK I ever did come into the track from there, I've always "slept" in track in the past
I suppose this is where the disguised Patriot Missiles are parked outside is it? Any road up, nine at the Courbe t'shall be...
