Own chemical loo is good, but doesn't get over the shower 'facilities'

I'm a bit worried I may appear to be a bit of a pykie with this... but I've never had any real complaints about the camping facilities... KN in '02, the loos were fine and the showers were warm, just a bit of a queue in the morning. HA in '03, the loos were again fine, if a little cramped... no room for a broadsheet, but clean anough. And the showers were hot and powerful, with an expected queue at the usual times. Now I don't like to think I have poor standards, but perhaps the quality of attendee is a little higher in these camp sites and hence the facilities are treated with more respect?? Can't speak for MB though...

I agree Russ. We were on HA this year and the toilets were pretty good. We had also taken a chemical loo with us and a 12V shower to save queueing (I pinched that idea from someone on here, I think it was Andy Zarse) Divided a 4m x 3m gazebo down the middle with a spare side wall and it bacame our own bathroom

Shocking that there seems to be such a difference between sites really... I guess I've just been lucky! We even used the public facilities rather than the one in the camper van we had...(not nice to leave the rancid stench of 5 guys worth of beer and burgers so close to your cooking facilities!!!... or even so close to where you're all sitting about!!!) Perhaps I should have ripped off the seat and pebble dashed the floor to give the place some character...

Beausejour is obviously in its infancy, and I hope it improves to the relatively luxurious standards the rest of you seem to enjoy

MB showers are pretty piss poor temperature wise. Never much more than a dribble and temp ranges from bleedin' brass monkeys to slightly less than. Loos cramped and smelly - but we keep going to the ones by the main entrance (coz they're closest) - maybe we should try to help flood out Smokie and the boys by using those ones!!

I can't complain at all about the facilities in Houx Annexe. They seem to be getting better every year. At this rate, in 5 years time, there'll be a small oriental man passing hot towels and cologne to you as you walk out of the stalls. The showers were a wee bit chilly, but we just used the hose pipe we bought (see colonic irrigation thread)

Sorry Robbo but that's a bit pathetic. You need one of those £100 jobs with a pump and frame and are about 30 inches deep. Great for keeping the beer cold.

Steve HTF do you get on of those in a Cobra? Or when you say East Anglia Cobras, are you referring to the the bottled lager available from the Akash in Burnham Market?
