London City Airport
« on: April 02, 2009, 12:21:02 am »
Read on the BBC news web site,

Periodically, airports amend the Runway designators to reflect changes in Magnetic North. In the case of London City this will be from   the current 10 and 28 to 09 and 27.

They are required by the CAA to make the change this year - it will take place on 02 July.

There is a great deal of work to be undertaken before the change, but there should be minimal disruption to the business.

They had the opportunity for a trial run last year, you can see from the attached we used the fun day closure for the practice, so it should  be straight forward this time.

I think I know what you mean Neil.

Magnetic Variation for navigation etc contantantly changes and therefore periodically locations need to be updated. I sail so have to apply the variations to any navigation.

Excel, where the great world leaders are meeting for the G20 global meeting. Why didn't the frigging bombs go off?
I was Project Manager for the ground works for the Excel Centre. Site evacuation regularly due to bomb location. There are still over a dozen german bombs under that place. If I knew then what I know now!!!  >:D
