Bit of a trip down memory lane that one. Thought I knew about the old working practices and the fact that working on a continuous line was bad news, but boy it must have been really tough in that foundry! That plant was a masterclass in what they now term 'vertically integrated'. Raw iron in one end, shiny new cars out the other.
I read a book yonks ago called "Working for Ford" which described working practices here and in the States. Fair made my hair stand on end.
Hopefull the Beeb will show a few of the other motoring themed programmes they squirrelled away on BBC3 and BBC4 recently as I missed the majority of them first time around.
There was also a series of progrmmes by a non-driver called MIchael Smith (called Drivetime, iirc) which were superb, in BBC 4 (not 3)'s Joy of Motoring season last month. Worth watching if they come on again.
Termie, I saw those, a bit polemical for my taste but still worth a watch I agree.
Hope you are continuing to mend.
