A tiny 5-door hatchback. the Micra's engine hardly moved back at all, and the nearside rear (that's still opposite corner to the driver, although LHD) passenger door still opened and closed with a click, even though the roof had been taken off! Given the circs, and the gendarme's evident satisfaction that Deb was in no way to blame, this sort of mischance could befall any of us. I'm not at all convinced an older generation car would have permitted survival. Termie is certainly looking for another one when the funds arrive!
