Amongst all the general thank-you's and mutual words of appreciation for all the hospitality shown in and around Sebring - and it's all truly deserved by the way -it's unusual for me to single out individuals. However, today I'm making an exception. I happen to think it's entirely appropriate, on behalf of the UK contingent, to express our sincere thanks to Matt Harper and his family.
Nothing has been too much trouble for Matt, from trips to and from the airport, nights out, food, beer and all manner hospitality has been so generously given without apparent limit. So many of us from this side of the pond owe Matt, Trish, Seth, Nicky, and yes even the four-legged terrors, such a big vote of thanks for their many kindnesses. Matt threw open his house to me last thursday, drove me around, fed and watered me, cracked gags, apparently we set a fish on fire though i don't remember that bit, and he even allowed me to use his own personal lavatory. Apart from the farting in the car, he was generally as good a pal as any man could ever hope for. I can never thank him enough, and I'm sure you'll all join me in saying thanks, we owe you one.
I know Matt, bluff Yorkshireman that he is, will be extremely embarrassed reading these words (and to be honest that's a large part of the pleasure in writing them) but you are, Sir, a prince amongst men.
Cheers Matt, see you in June

True words all of them.
I only hope that the Harper family make it to NZ in the future so I can show the same kindness and hospitality in return.
Thanks for everything.

Just goes to show that CA is an 'online' family of individuals with their own families all trying to make life freindly and helpfull.
As a matter of interest, now that Force India are in GP, do we have any Asian members supporting LM?

Allthough I didn't have the pleasure of being at Harper Acres, I still wanna thank him and Seth for picking us up at the airport, and getting us where we wanted to go. Will be glad to return the favours when he or they visit us in Le Mans.

This film should be played at high volume, so don't come complaining about it! And who the hell is Steve?

Aw shucks, I've gone all red now. I feel very happy about your kind words - and even happier that you enjoyed yourself. In truth, the pleasure was all mine. In fact all of you guys who came over made my experience of the preliminaries and race weekend itself better, as a result. Hard though it may be to believe, but I have been known to be a bit of a miserable f*cker when it comes to hospitality (rather like my dog, Walter). However, you folks will always be welcome. Always. I dropped Vegas! off at MCO around 5.00pm - and it was sad to see the last of you leave. See y'all at Le Mans - and hopefully one or two of you can make it back over here for The Petit in the Autumn. P.S. To all of you who brought tea bags, sweets, paracetemol and personal care products, my wife and I are very grateful. She's back in caffine heaven - with additional sugar-rush, I don't stink (as much) and my hangover has just about been nuked by the drugs.

I've not made it to Sebring but when I needed a part for our Coleman coffee perculator that I could only get in the States Matt was kind enough to order it for me to his address (they wouldn't ship overseas), and then ship it over to me all at his own cost.
That really is the power of the Club Arnage and the wonderful folks that inhabit it.
I won't be at LM this year Matt so I won't get to buy you a beer to say thanks.
Hope you all recover from Sebring soon!

I can tell you from first hand experience that Matt comes by this honestly. His entire family, Mum & Dad, siblings, and spouses, all are spectacular when it comes to caring for weary travelers. For over a decade know I've been bumming a free bed, meals, evening beverage, and a morning cup of coffee off of them in my various travels, and they've always looked after me as if I was one of their own, despite my often anti-social behavior.
