It's being polite to call the IRL "major". She won that race because the second place finisher was told to back off for fuel consumption reasons. After the race, the car was found to have had plenty of fuel to finish at 10/10. Roger Penske isn't known for making poor decisions. Conspiracy? Her "miraculous" 4th place finish at Indy a few years back was after punting 3 other cars off the track and performing an illegal pit stop which she wasn't penalized for. She's where she is because of how she looks. Michelle Mouton, Angelle Savoie and Shirley Muldowney made it on talent. Over here, the media coverage is sickening in it's saturation. Maybe that's why I'm a tad bitter. Maybe you need a new team slogan?? Instead of "Your Favourite Driver Sucks" you should change over to "Danica Sucks" Someone was selling "Danica Sucks" t-shirts at the Champ Car races a few years back. Very professional, and they looked like legit merchandise until you noticed the "sucks" part. At least one of our crew has one. We had some that say "Katherine (Legge) - 3, Danica - 0", also, referring to their wins in the Atlantics championship. Her husband's not a model citizen, either, apparently. --> CLICKPersonally, I like my girls with a few more squishy bits. Like me.

Thanks for that Phil, I thought I'd heard the name before but hadn't a clue who she was. How are you doing these days? I take it your arrangements are in hand for June.
Hi Steve, you are welcome. June is still in the planning stage for me. Hope to see you again this year. Phil

As Lee said, Photoshop can do wonders. I've seen this miserable, over-rated little bitch in person several times, and she looks like a sixteen year old boy with long hair. I can tell you how she got her ride with Rahal-Letterman, it involves alot of booze and a hotel elevator, its a story pretty well known in the Indycar circles but nobody will utter it for fear of incuring the rath of "The Boobs" henchmen. Have it from people within the sport that there may never have been a more disliked person than DP (and her hillbilly entourage, father, husband, etc.) She better get that tit job soon, because her fifteen minutes of fame is running out soon (as is Indycars patience with her). Spreading it for Penthouse can't be far off. Fax

Whoops, sorry LT. Was thinking long hair and starts with a L I stand corrected. Fax No worries, just drop by on Turn 10 to be confirmed that we are different persons. We might even have a couple of cold ones there. Heard that too Doris, look on the bright side, it will be good fun too see how she makes a complete fool of herselves in the F1!

Your on LT, cold beer at Turn 10, I think we might be able to find a couple of friends there to drink with As for Danica in F1? She's living on Fantasy Island if she thinks that's ever going to happen. She doesn't have the credentials to be where she is now! For someone who's managed to win ONE race of any kind since she was in karts, she's managed to carve out a nice living as a media whore. Fax

Whatever Danica lacks as a racer, and whether or not she has margerine thighs, F1 has been drinking in the Last Chance Saloon for too many seasons. The arrival of a black driver, who happened to be good enough to win races and now the WC, has given it a temporary reprieve, and the cost-cutting may do the same. Now a new marketing opportunity arises to shore up Ecclebum's Empire - totty, not just on the grid, but taking the start. Column inches and sponsorship offers increase from that moment on, helping to balance the books. That alone may help her get into a seat ahead of better male drivers, and help her team into F1. Of course, if she could do Miss Whiplash, it would help even more by getting Max Mosley on side, too!

The marketing people have already set an inofficial female quota for the DTM. It's not my intention to knock on Susie Stoddart and Katherine Legge, but there are more talented drivers around.
Nevertheless, the DTM organisers as well as Mercedes and Audi stick to this idea and I'm sure the same will happen in F1 as soon as they find a female driver capable of driving an F1 car without making a complete fool of herself - she doesn't need to win.
I think it's not about the sport, it's all about PR and the intention is to attract more female audience to races - and more sponsors which target this audience.

From the article Doris posted... "She's great. She gets a lot of press," USF1 technical director Ken Anderson said in a telephone interview. "(Indianapolis Motor Speedway president) Tony George would probably be pretty mad with me if I took her out of the IRL but we'll see."Whilst seeing Tony George upset can never be a bad thing, and that I confidently prdeict USF1 will never turn a wheel in anger, the attitude proffered by that quote pretty much says it all really. Nothing about her driving ability, simply that she get's lots of press. What a pack of crap.
