Bernie's trying to devalue the series ahead of his impending divorce.

You heard it here first.

Most likely last, too.
A friend told me that in Fridays newpaper it said that Bernie and Mrs E were seperating.  I can't find any mention of it

As he seems to have put everything in his wife's name for tax reasons, there would be no need for a divorce settlement, unless he wanted some of it back

I would so love a McCartney/Mills style divorce splashed all over the papers.

An Ecclestone V's Giant Foreign Woman with all sorts of ghastly domestic revelation about the "ginger wheelspins" in the back of Bernie's dirty white "Michael Winner" style underpants would be much more interesting than F1.

Report on the radio Thursday that Mrs E had left the marital home.

The Poison dwarf was quoted that is was due to the noise from buiding work next door that had driven her away.

Obviously the top divorce lawyer practice that Mrs E has alledgeley had meetings with, has a small department dealing with noise abatement issues. Grin

Bring back the point that used to be scored for pole and the one for fastest lap....

MG Mark

Bring them back?
The point for fastest lap applied from 1950 - 1959. But a point for pole position - when did that happen?

This is just stupid, I don't even know where to begin.  The argument that the driver who wins the most races should be the champion is as old as GP racing itself.  How many times has the title gone to the driver with most wins?  Not that often...
The title should reward both speed AND consistancy.  I didn't think that either Hamilton or Massa were worthy of the title this year because of the number of bone-headed mistakes they and their teams made, despite how many races they won.
Bernie's just becoming senile, its the only excuse I can find for the things he proposes.

Spot on - got confused - a point for pole is a facet of BTCC, although it appears that it might be considered for F1....

Used to be the case when the Champ Car series was good and I've wondered for ages if it could add spice to Farce1

Isn't it time Bernie retired anyway? Mind you, sounds like he'll need to keep working now  Wink
