This happend at 20-25mph at lunchtime today.

I saw it comming but my passenger didn't, but there was no way to avoid it. I think the '51 reg Fiesta might be a write off. Just hoping mine isn't.

Not cosidering race circuit accidents, this is the 2nd worst in a car that I have experienced.

Sh1t happens.

Hope everyone ok - that's main thing! Insurance is great for repairing cars, not so good with people. Yours may not be brand new, but damage looks very local, so good chance of recovery. Hope repairs easy and effective.

Looking at the age of the car and from experience of doing similar damage to an R reg Audi, take that to a proper repair place that uses new parts and it may be a write off but depends on if the structure is damaged or just the bumper , wing and bonnet. Mine however needed a new screen and the side of the car respraying due to glass chip damage but other than that needed the same sort of parts yours looks to need, and the cost came to nearly £4000 at the end of the repair.

Second hand parts may be the way to go if you don't want it written off.

Good luck.  My Granada had a similar dent and was written off, but it was 15 years old.  I think that this is becoming a problem, as you can have an old car in showroom condition, but with a few miles on it, and Glasses Guide says "peanuts".  You then try buying another one, and all you can get for the money is a real dog.

Make sure you can buy it back from the insurance company and have it repaired yourself.

Sorting it yourself is definatly the way to go. My 1st car,a rover 214i,was going to be written off after an old duffer decided it needed a trolley shaped dent in the door. Sorted it myself with a salvage door and a cheap spray for £75  Grin

The BMW might be a ted more expensive but you'll be amazed what the scrappy will throw up.

Ouch Sad. Sorry to see the pic mate. Glad is was only a little one and you are ok.
Airbags? If yours has em (I cant remember as when I drove Rob home in her it was a little "early" and the the old mince pies were not fully functioning) did any go off? Any suspension damage?
If not, as everyone else has said, go for the buy back if it goes through insurance.

I'm sure you'll find the panels, lights, bumper etc from one of the BMW breakers on the net (same colour too!) and then get her down to PP towers for the attention of Jim, Andy and me..

Let me know mate.
Could be a fun weekend!

Stuff the car - it can be replaced.

As long as no one was hurt, or worse.

Then what's the problem!

sh*t happens! - at least you can smile and still drink beer.

By the way - mines a pint  Grin

Leftie.. I trust you are still driving her? Anything metal rubbing on tyres can easily be sorted with a long bar (and some advice from Vern) and a Sainsburys bag cut up now makes a handy temporary indicator lens as they have nice orange ones.
Have you got any pics of the opposition? Wink

Well, the car was collected and taken to the repairers for assessment at 0930 this morning.

My 'opposition' was a Fiesta!!! with 4 absolutely gorgeous young beauties dressed in uniforms. Could only get 1 number though Undecided The kiss of life would kill me, real suicide bodies Evil

Had a look today to see if HCC has any 'observation' signal cameras. But didn't see any.

It appears that hers is undrivable but not that much damage!

Herd today ny snail mail that it is a 'write off'.

Can understand that a 4.0ltr would be.

Being having a few words with the insurance company though ove the valuation and the payout.

LPP, you will have a PM shortly
