Hi All,

For those that are interested, don't forget that the Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercars is on Motors TV tonight from 9 pm. Race due to start at 1 am and run through to 8 am. So 9pm - 1 am is probably build up and season highlights so far.

Intend to stay awake until 8am and then sleep before going out on Sunday in the afternoon. Anyone else planning on staying up to watch. GOOD LUCK !

I've driven round the place twice, and can attest that even at the limit of 50K (ahem) in a s**tbox hire car, the dipper is awesome.

It'll have to be 2010 for me though, I'm very busy next year.

now you gotta feel sorry for the pole sitter....not only did he manage to stall at the start, he's just been handed a 10 sec penalty, despite his stall taking him from 1st to 24th at the start....

I fell asleep on lap 3.

Is it me or do these things appear to have a lot more grip than they used to?

Probably because they look a bit more tame over the top of the mountain these days don't they.

They dont look as out of control as they used to do they Grin.

I guess its the normal story of more and more grip being available but the power output of the cars being pegged.

I would still love to get out to the last great long distance Touring car race in the world. I did work with a guy who went there once and he told me its a crazy event and there can be trouble between the Ford and Holden fans.

Maybe with the Austrialian dollar nosediving lately it could be quite affordable too?
