Which former single seater driver (rtd 1979) connects these?

1. Virgin Atlantic Upper Class lay-flat seat
2. The Strathcarron Sportscar
3. The BAR F1 Team
4. Has never raced at Lemans but he has been closely connected to several cars in the recent years.

The same guy also broke five World Land Speed Records and six British National Records at Elvington in 1970 and in 1971 boke again five World Land Speed Records and six British National Records at Elvington, Yorkshire - 250cc Motorcycle

Is it Adrian Reynard?

Met him in the paddock at my first ever motorsport event - Magny Cours 1993 - F3000 meeting ,where his chassis were running. My boss at the time was competing in a support race - HRSR in a Fiat Abarth 1000TCR.

I strolled up to him randomly in the paddock and asked if I could borrow a light (in my best mustered French). Whereupon he explained he was English and the we were both from the UK within 10 miles of each other. Small world. I was only 19 and had no idea who he was!

Right first time!

since the Reynard car name went south he has been pretty busy. One of the more surprising things I saw is that he co owns a company that designs and makes the lay flat seats for Virgin Atlantic.

He also the landlord of the Honda F1 team.

Yeah,

Strangely enough, I also worked in a unit next door to BAR (as they were) in Brackley for a number of years.

Interestingly the Cadillac (LMP) Team (Northstar racing??) used the same industrial estate to design and build that car - I used to watch them working from my office window.

I recall he and his business were suffering from strain, so they put in some consultant types to run the business, and it died almost immediately
