Hi there, thanks, Piglet, for the message. All is still going to plan. I started in the pool this week, which is a really liberating experience after weeks of either being in a chair or a bed. I can walk in the water using submerged parallel bars (with only my head out of the water -10% of one's bodyweight apparently) and also swim although it's pretty slow as I'm not allowed to use my legs when swimming! Typing is pretty tough as the right hand is still not co-operating fully but at least I'm able to use all ten digits, if only for a short time before they sieze up, hence my lack of posts on here! On 29th it will have been three months since my op' and then, in theory, I should be allowed to start some weight bearing, if the surgeon allows but it's all up to him and depends on how the x-rays look. The doc' seemed quite happy about my having a home visit for Christmas - something which I'd really like to do as I haven't seen the place (or the dog, mogs and pones) since I left for my hols at the beginning of August. I'll keep you posted as best I can.  |

Doc told me today that I can slowly begin weight bearing from Wednesday onwards. Not bad really, all things considered. I'm not sure I'd have lived had it not been for the modern technology which means even small cars offer real protection these days. I don't think I'd have got away with this in my old Mini, for instance....  |

Crikey, that's a bit of a knock, did it set off the airbag?  Looks like the poor little devil laid down it's life for you.  The technology in modern passenger survival cells is simply amazing. Out of interest, would you have another Micra, or does living in France lead you to chose summat Frog based like a Clio or Pug due to costs, service, spares etc? |

As my little Nip's chassis - which I thought was the car's best feature and which I loved - is common to the Modus and the Clio I have to consider them. But after what she did for me I'm quite tempted just to get another. Much will depend upon the French courts and how much money (if any) I get in compensation.
