Anyone else planning on going to the Silverstone 24 hours?

1st time I went last year & really enjoyed it, not quite Le Mans but still good  Grin

Does anyone know any info about camping at the 24 hours? I'm looking into the campsite behind the main stands, has anyone camped there before & know the cost etc?

White Rabit Racing are organising the camping,  first time there has been official camping inside the circuit for the 24hrs

We'll be at the race, but we are staying at the Green Man up the road, toooo old for camping!

I really fancy going - and probably will - but I have to say I was surprised to say the least by the ticket prices... £40 if you turn up on the day!  That isn't all that much more than general admission for Le Mans and let's face it there is a world of difference between the two events.

Surely a more imaginative pricing structure could boost attendance to this event.

I've got some BOGOF vouchers for this. Am tempted by it, but the £200 it'll cost me (at least) will be better spent on plasterboard / timber etc.

First PM first served.

I woz wrong, they're better than BOGOF (2 weekend passes for £30, entry, with grandstand seating, and paddock access)

PM me for details (there's an  email address, and a specific (But not individual) title required for the email which I'd rather not post, obviously)

Tickets posted out 2 weeks prior to event.

That is all

(Bloody bet it isn't)

I'll definitely be there from the Friday through to the Sunday pm finish. I've been to all of the Britcar 24s since it started in '05 and it really does get better and better each year. Hopefully with WRR organising the infield camping there'll be more of a crowd to enjoy it this year too. Some friends of mine who are in their debut season of racing in the Production S1 category will be entering this year's 24 in their 2.0 litre Clio Cup! Should be 'interesting' as they spend a large proportion of the time watching the mirror for rapidly approaching Moslers, F430s, 997s and the like!  Shocked

And the added bonus is that I only live about 20 minutes from Silverstone so I haven't got to worry about accommodation!  Grin

I was wondering if it had anything to do with the publicity they got last year on Top Gear  Grin

I got a response from White Rabbit about the camping & it's £50  Cry more than you can pay @ Le Mans  Shocked so I'm exploring the other sites near the circuit, anyone have any suggestions? I have camped at the GP before but that's completely different.

£50 !!!!! They are having a laugh aren't they?  How can they possibly justify that amount.  If you see somebody sleeping in a ditch near the circuit it will probably be me.  There is no way I am paying £50.

Well I can fit 5 people and camping kit into the camper for a two min drive through the gate. £10 each is not too bad. Whittlebury is still £30 but a long walk to the circuit.

What a weekend that just was!

Unfortunately the big accident at the start had us all very worried. anytime the start was mentioned over the weekend on the pa\radio we listened carefully.

Hope Andy does make a full recovery soon! Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
