Several members of the forum have visited the annual beer (real ale) festival that I help organise in Basingstoke every September. This will be taking place again this year and coincides with the Silverstone LMS round so a little back and forth visiting may be the order of the weekend!

This year, we are hosting our first Lager Festival on Saturday 5th July from 7pm to 11pm at Hatch Warren Community Centre, Longcross Lane, Hatch warren, Basingstoke, RG22 4XF

25 different bottled lagers from around the world, from Australia to Jamaica, From Belgium to China. (We've even sneaked Leffe Blond in to entice Steve B down!!)

Entrance is £6 per person and includes a commemorative glass and your first drink. There will also be a live band.

Beers will range from £1.50 to £2.50 per bottle.

My driveway will be available for camper vans, my garden will be availble to pitch tents, or air mattresses on the garage floor.

Hope to see some of you there!!

I'm supposed to be going to a 'thank god it's all over' night with the girls from college that night.  Given my brother will be over from NZ and I think he should have the opportunity to meet at least some of the people I spend my fun time with I may well attend this instead.

Mark - was I hearing things or did you mention cider when we were talking about this on Sat night?

You are of course quite right!!!!

There will be some cider available for those that don't drink lager. And wine and soft drinks!

Not sure yet whether the cider will be bottled or barrelled!

Can you get some of that half a pint and you're over the limit stuff you had at last year's beer festival?  That was delicious!  Grin

If we can get the barrels from WTBS then that's the route we are going to take. If so, then the 8% Biddendens is a must!!!  Grin
