It looks like a number of The Brethren will attend Sebring next year and Lady PP and I plan to fly to Las Vegas after for a few days of depravity.
Would be fun if we could get a few of us there.... Is anyone interested??

Steve Zarse said he would be up for it.

If we organise early it will save some $$$$

Your views??

I'm only prepared to answer once I'm assured that you have all passports/visas/permits in order.

It has to be done, but i have more complicated exit/entry procedures to overcome - the wife.

The brother in law may be the answer, but then I have big sister to comply with as well.

Rex,

Do you have any indications on Cost for this?? I'd dearly love to get out to Sebring, but previously cost has been a real issue for me....

Perhaps someone who has done it before might be so kind as to estimate costings?  I need to see where I need to cut back to afford it...

In summary - im up for it, funds permitting....

I mentioned this to dragonwife a few weeks ago and suggested that it could be combined with a family hol with the girls.
Is there plenty to do nearby? Whats the weather like in march? How far is it from Orlando, space centre, disney land etc. ?

I spend about 1000 euro's this year. That is inclucing flight, renting an RV with 3 others, entrance ticket, camping ticket, beer and food and general spending money. If you go with a small group it becomes less expensive. Cost of beer and food is cheaper compared to the UK or Holland.

Sebring is about an hours drive from Orlando by car, little longer by RV. Easy drive. Closeby of course disneyland (to convince the wife), universal studios, bush gardens in Tampa. The everglades, not to forget kennedy space center and if you are lucky, you might even get to see a space shuttle launch like last march.

If you get your flights at the right time, you should expect to get one for about £300/£350.

Weekend Superticket this year was $100. If you know the right people you can pick these up for about $70. Parking for the a car was $25 IIRC and this entitles you to camp as well. I think RV parking was $50?

The main straights have numbered/reserved trackside RV parking, but the main campgrounds are unmarked so first come first served.

I was fortunate and didn't need to hire a car or book hotels thsi year as I stayed with ATC Greg for a few days before the race and then went staright back to Orlando after the race.

I'm guessing my whole trip only cost about £600 and that included going out for some nice meals with Greg and John and Greg's Fmaily family.

I would highly recommend it. The party is as good as Le Mans, but the racing is so much better. So many areas where there is no catch fencing (lkike Turn 10) where you can stand 10 feet from the track behind a fence that is no higher than your chest! Add to that the open paddock, and the fact you can walkon the grid up until a couple of hours before the race and you pretty much have it!

I'll be there!!!!  Smiley

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

Brad. I am doing the same as I did last year. Out Thursday morning back Sunday evening. Hire a cheap car at MCO and pitch up with either Pidge or Turn 10. You only need 2 days off work and not too expensive.

I can't believe the planning for Sebring has stated already
