Did you not notice the huge signs saying that there was a camera ahead? Usually you will be summoned to a court in France and if you do not turn up, your car will be taken to the French Embassy compound in London and you will have to pay around £5K to get it back.

Kev, this is a wind-up, right. Well, I hope so. Whatever, although Europe has been banging on about co-ordinating all this stuff for several years now, it still has not happened as, as ever, they can't get their computers etc to talk to each other. And they wonder why the Lisbon agreement is unpopular. Nowt to worry about at present but it may come one day.

If it is of any help, we usually have one Ski trip a year in which we drive.
Last year on our way to Livigno (It), via France and Switzerland our driver was flashed twice in France, and this year on the way down to Val D'Isere, he was again flashed twice. To date he has not had any communication for any of the flashes.
I'm sure it will come eventually, but at the moment it seems that you are safe.

Always amazes me to see Brit motorists ignore the mandatory speed limits at the exit slip roads, must be as rich as creosote, the way they blast past the camera guys...

I have always want to put a stobe light in the front grill of my car, so when some I know goes past me at high speed, you can use the strobe and flash them. All they will see is a sudden flash and not know where it came from. Great way to confuse people! May be a bit to evil - but fun - where's Kev?

There will not be any headway on the French and other European Countries getting your details soon.
The UK Government and its agency - DVLA point blankly refuse access, and i'm led to believe, never will. It would be too open to abuse by people the DVLA and UK laws cant control.
Word of warning though.
If... you drive the same car for a few years, you WILL be on their computerised records and they CAN take you in to review the photo's, all of which are rear facing i believe......
ALWAYS keep the vehile standard and you cant go far wrong...
Does that help ??
I average 3 cameras there and anoter 3 back to the Alps for my snowboard trip...
Its the manned cameras you need to be very scared off. The french hate them and will flash at you if your being "aggresive" with the throttle. It works the same way to assist them.
i MUST REMIND YOU THAT SPEED KILLS AND YOU SHOULDN'T BREAK THE LAW. DRIVE TO THE CONDITIONS WITHIN YOURS AND THE VEHICLES DESIGNED ABILITIES....
