I gonna try the circuit on thursday afternoon...

... 2 tracks are available, the leisure one and the competition one.

On the leisure one you can be up to 15 at the same time.

By complete co-incidence, I have today had a letter from Honda UK inviting me to enter a Karting team into a 3 hour endurance race at Daytona International on Sunday Sept 28. This is subsidised by Honda and a four person team costs £60 per head. The carts are apparently very fast, being twin engine Prokarts. There are several prizes, including a guided tour of of the BAR Honda F1 factory.

Very good value I thought, until I realised that this Daytona International is in Milton Keynes not FLA!!

Seriously tho, is anyone interested??

Hi Andy

If you're short of someone then let me know and I'll come along. I'm sure you'll get a better team by putting some lighter people into the Karts though rather than my bulky frame.  Wink

Yesterday I tried the "Challenge Grand Prix" on the little track.

For only 45 euros, you have 10 minutes of free trials, 10 minutes of time trials and a 20 minutes race.

But we can drive longer and even, if we are enough numerous, organise team race with a change of pilots. The system is you pay by kart, not by pilot.

The little track is 900m and 6m-large, the competition one a few less than 1200m and 8m-large.

Comments on the litttle track: not a lot of spots to overtake "properly"  Wink, good curves, a funny bridge,..., maybe it could be enough for a first try (could be completed by a few runs on the competition one).

Now I wait for your advice and ideas and interests !

Sodicart is the brand of the chassis, and maybe by extension the brand of the kart...

Well I think we should run the competition karts and track.  If we're going to do it, we should really go all out.  I think we should run it on the Tuesday before the race.  Most of our crowd will be there and there isn't much race stuff going on, so the Club Arnage team might be able to participate (including Dave and I).

If we could get 30 people, we could run the 1 hour race split into either four 15 min or two 30 min shifts as an enduro race.  I don't know if any of you guys have ever run a real competition kart before, but 30 min of hard running can really kick your but.  The key would be getting 30 people to fork over the 34 euros in advance to do this.  I can probably russle up about four people in the Club Arnage team.

I think I can get some Club Arnage mechandise together for prizes.   Maybe Gilles can check out some local trophy stores to get prices on some custom "Club Arnage" trophies.

To answert your question Andy, a Sodicart is a competition kart chassis manufaturure.  All race kart chassis designs are pretty much the same.

Chris the speedway also sell kart trophies, from the little kart to the giant cup. I've got also a lot of pre-owned standard cups at home, just need a sticker or an engravery to become CA cups !

I confirm that 30 minutes of kart driving is really enough...
