We've got the Melans logo sorted, thanks to Rusty!  Now I'm trying to get pricing on vest tops/t-shirts and it's working out about £15  Shocked a top.  Just wanted to know if this sounded about right (printing front and back)?  Or if anyone could recommend a company for me to get another estimate?

Thanks, Vicky and The Melans

Hi Vicky

Sound OTT to me, but it depends on a number of factors.

1.   The heat-transfer method of printing is cheaper than screen printing, but the colours are not so robust.  Heat-transfer should cost £9-10 for just a few shirts, and it is not dependant on the picture or number of colours.

2.  Screen printing does depend on the number of colours - each individual colour, front and back, requires a separate screen image, and a separate print pass, and it is the screen set-up that costs, so can't say what price would be reasonable without knowing this, but it makes the shirts expensive if there are only a few to be printed.

Would have been able to help out more, but I'm off on hols in an hour.

Best of luck

I wouldn't bother with tops. Just stop by the perversion parlour each day and we'll paint/stroke a design on  Tongue

Its not much help, but when I have priced up printing t-shirts etc. for just a small number, its come out around £15 anyway.

There are a few people on e-bay that do custom t-shirts to order for around £12 plus postage, but these tend to be very basic lettering only not full colour fancy designs.  (just search for "custom tshirts" and some sellers will come up, you could always send them your design and see what they reckon)

Photocopying shops often do some form of t-shirt printing, might be worth your while asking there, the ones i have spoken to usually take a printed design and just use a sort of iron on transfer thingy - its not great but would last a week at LM08!.

Vicky/Rowena

Have you decided what type of printing you'd like.

Paddy might be your answer as he can print onto good quality iron on thin vinyl (like the Absolut and Bacardi Sebring t-shirts you saw last at Brands Hatch)

I know he's busy at the moment but I'll have a word.

I know there are six of you, how many each are you wanting?

The vinyl absolute ones and the bacardi ones were printed on by a company, you could iron them on, but it is a hassle if the prints are big. Don't know about paddy's time, but with a little help from others their might be a possibility, so what do you offer if I go over and help him?? Evil

Mark - I don't know about the type of printing, Vicky is probably better to answer that but I do know that we want about 4 vest tops each.

Roy - in answer to your question, remember I own you!!!  Grin he he

Weena,

The guys I use for our shirts are way to expensive for short runs as they are screen printed and the origination is the pricey bit, 4 colour process is even more expensive.

I do have some other chaps that do heat transfer, there prices are £17.50 for A3 images printed onto their own shirts, £12.50 for A4 images. Alternatively, if you supply your own shirts, A3 is £15 and A4 £10. They have a a 24 hour turnaround.

In fact I have just run a test on your logo and A4 is perfect for size. I'll happily organise it for you if you wish, just let me know how you want to do it.
