Bishop's supermarkets !! Blimey that sent a shudder through me. I started my design career with that mob back in 1974 just after the end of the 3 day week at their head office in South Ruislip.
F**k me I'm getting old.

Not as old as me though Rusty
Mark was that where Somerfields is now, back of where your folks are?
No chippy there but a poor Chinki and a currihouse which I wont be likely to be using. Their next door neighbours are the Coop funeral department, more than a tad off putting late at night...
Andy do you mean the row of shops near to the traveller's rest?
Or down the bottom of the hill?
So difficult to stay safe these days innit?

I usually go to Bakers Lane or Lambeth Rd aint deaded yet... Went to Mere Green many years ago when it was the only place within getting food within my breaktime wasnt superb but I have had worserer then again at least I can find chippies round here Has anyone ever driven off the M40 on the way home from Le Mans into High Wycombe looking for a chippy? No bloody chance and I drove around the central bit a couple of times plenty of pizza joints but not a sniff of God's Supper (roof down in the Midge is usually good for chippie sensing) As I sit here in High Wycombe, I could point you toward 3 chippys within a mile of me. If you're after a chippy on the way home, get off the M40 at the junction 3 (Wycombe East) and head up the hill to Flackwell Heath. Great chippy in the parade in the middle of the village.

Again CA proves its worth! Is that left or right off the M40 heading westbound then? I came off the motorway at two junctions heading off to the right in my quest for edible nosh, then gave up and dropped off the planet to Oxford Services. "Food Jim, but not as we know it!" bill

The rat pie was the reason I told Bill to avoid that particular chippy. I'm not going to say why, but it involved a chicken's beak with nostrils and a few short feathers still attached... [/quote] Sounds like the Chicken & Chips I had from opposite the Old Poo Bar in 2003. I still have the wing clip that was embedded deep inside the breast meat on the Nissan keyring. It even had the chickens name on it, Richard, Obviously Free range and well cared for if they took the time to name them all. Its the rusty bit below Mini PP! Lady PP suggested Turtle Burger for dinner, but that didnt look too appealing either!

"Food Jim, but not as we know it!" bill Bill, directions to chippy. Exit M40 westbound/northbound at Jcn 3 Wycombe East. At roundabout, 1st exit, 300 mts to mine r'bout and turn right (2nd exit), 400 mts minin r'bout turn left (1st exit), up very steep Treadaway Hill and continue to mini r'bout. Frackle Fryer is on your right hand side, mid way down parade of shops. Address, Swains Market, Flackwell Heath. When do you travel back, I'll check the opening times for you. Failing that, stop in at Nobby Towers! I have to go straight from my Monday afternoon Speedferries crossing, to my daughters Brownies "Fathers Day" Olympics. I'm going to good for nothing by then.

Bill, if you do try the chippy in Flackers take heed. If you happen to see anyone playing a banjo for God's sake put your foot down and head back to civilisation. You could end up squealing like a piggy

Quite right Bob!
Funny you should say that, there is a guitar shop next to the chippy!
