Jem, and why did you not post back in January when we had the first NW meet. Chester races have gone a bit Chavy for my taste, but it is only a 10 min walk home from the course Grin, Which date then? Also trying out Bangor on dee races this year. Any one elsoe for another NW meet? Pre LM?

Back on track, which route are you on?

Nickliv,

Same ferry as you, travelling down on the 10th from Chester via Cambridge to pick up the rest of the gear and also 1 other motor. Teaming up with the 3rd car in our group at the Travel Inn at Dover Docks Tuesday night.

Any other CA's on the early Wednesday Speedferry?

Are you proceeding directly to Dover from turnipland, or are you partaking in the barely adequate rest facilities provided courtesy of one of Dovers less than salubrious hotels?

We'll be overnighting at Dick's place - between Sandwich and Dover.  Then up at sparrow fart and 10 minutes to Dover.

I thought most of Dover's hotels now housed 'asylum seekers'.  Roll Eyes

Yes but Kev, you're a young man, your joints are supple, your eyes are bright, and you can probably hold an erection all day (whereas our arms get tired). Us more mature campaigners, need a rest, the feel of a good counterpane at night and a miniscule morning glass of powdered orange juice followed by three tinned grapefruit segments before we take on a channel crossing.

We all meet up in Dover and enjoy a few pints at the Premier Inn's bar and some food before enjoying a last sleep in a proper bed Grin

Nicliv - which establishment will you be sleeping in?

We're in the aspirationally titled Dover Premier Travel inn, hoping for a sea view room, rather than an armenian shouting at his broken lorry on the A2 room. In '06 we wandered into Dover itself, drawn by the elusive scent of a curry we never did find, followed by a dissapointing wetherspoons experience.

I think we may look harder for a curry this time.
