In the 80's I frequently saw '911 SC' on a 911 SC and 'All 928s' on a 928s running around Bucks

I liked AC 427.  I met the owner, he'd sold the Cobra and put it on a Clio Williams.  That must be a hanging offence.

I can understand that you might have to get rid of the Cobra, but why keep the plate

My Dad's old rep used to have a Nissan Sylvia I think and was often pulled over by the Police.  Not sure why but his no was 999 ALT.   (True story - He bought it to take the proverbial)

The fact that we do not have letters only numbers in Guernsey has lead to quite a few interesting numbers including 911 on an old original 911 also beemers with 318 , 325, pugs with 206 etc the Bailiff gets to use a car with 1 on it and the Governor uses cars with G1 and G2 (only time we have letters) his official chauffeur driven car does not have any number.

Oh and as the advert (HSBC I think) a chinese chap does have No 8 he also has 88, 888 and 8888.

BL03 JOB lived a few doors down from me 'till  a year ago - indeed a LM regular!
I saw V121 DAY on a Mondeo recently and W00 5H on a Ferrari was a regular sight some time back.

I remember being stuck in traffic behind 67" NOB on the north circular many years ago!! slightly awkward few minutes as I was taking my mum to visit my aunt.

That's what Le Mans is about

Here in Germany you have to stick with the first part to your hometown or better to say County

I live in the county of Limburg/Weilburg which is indicated by LM
So possible Le Mans related plates are easy to get as you have one or two random letters and 1 to 3 digits

LM-GT 1 (Corvette Z06)
LM-GT 2 (Ferrari F430 Scuderia)
LM-HA 24 (Houx Annexe - Carthago Megaliner camping car)

Just have to win the lottery and luckily I've seen none of the GT plates yet - most of the people take their initials and year of birth...
