Big congrats to Penske Racing on winning the Sebring 12 hours, looked like a helluva race.  The Audi's had a myriad of drama's, as did Peugeot opening the door for a flawless run from the #7 Peskey.  With four RS Spyders in the top six itwas a good day for the the firm from Stuttgart. Hope the whole CA gang on hand had a great time, looked like the Turn 10 guys saw a good show from their perch.

Well done Porsche and Penske, its been a while since either of those names top the sheet at Sebring.

Just shows what can happen when the Audis are pushed, just like LM last year things can fall off or break.

Maybe all those moaning twats will now shut up the nonsense that the Diesels need to be hobbled. If someone was to step up to the plate with a pukka petrol P1 then it could do as well as a P2 car.

Audi (and Pug) won't need to ask for a rule change, they were quicker than the Porsche and Honda, but just could not make it last this time.

The petrol P1 teams may want to, they were thashed by the P2 Porsche and Hondas, but until we see a works Petrol P1 we wont see the true pace that is possible.

Also dont forget the ALMs does give the P2 car a small break to bring them closer to the P1 cars than possible in the LMs.

Agreed Nordic, the ALMS is requiring the P2 cars to carry a extra 25kgs this season, which is still about half what the ACO and LMS requires.  But you hit it on the nose, the Audi's and Pug were faster, but didn't run trouble free races.  Audi had turbo, suspension, and brake rotor problems, as well as a couple of driver mistakes.  But despite the extra weight this year, there are going to be venues on the ALMS calendar where the Porsche's and Acura/Honda's will be the cars to beat.

Yeah nice one a good win but I have to say the pugs looked bloody quick, a good deal faster than the Audi's but its the tortoise and the hare syndrome Grin

thanks to the coverage on speedtv.com i managed to watch a good bit of the race. i really love the RS spyders so it was good to see them performing so well. too bad about audi and peugeot but i kind of enjoy watching audi struggle a little bit. i really hope that Peugeot can bring a proper fight to audi this summer.

are any RS spyders going to compete in the 24H?

Team Essex & Van Merksteijn Motorsport are entered with 1 each.

My friends were stood near a guy with a radar gun at the end of the back straight before turn 17. He was using it to see how fast each car was doing before braking for the bend. He had this one for many laps but every single lap, the radar gun simply would not pick up the Peugeot.

Is this simply an issue that the car is mainly bare carbon and doesn't reflect the radar beam back the same as a painted car, or are Peugeot trying to keep the speed of the car under wraps and employing a radar jamming device on the car so that nobody knows how quick it really is. (Although lap times should tell you anyway !)
