I think I may take the old surveyors level and tripod this year.... allows viewing of ones surroundings up to about a mile....  Only for watching the race, obviously! Wink

Rex, I'll bring my staff. Metric & Imperial graduations!!

But a decent tripod with a 100mm lens.............. well.

At my age, it takes me all night to do what I used to do all night!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, growing old is compulsary, but growing up is just optional.

Its an 80's orange one with 60mm lens. been regularly serviced and calibrated. Gives a super clear view for a magic distance... should we be able to get high enough we may be able to watch MB campers Wink

The staff is useful, put on a high vis vest and stand in front of hotties with the staff. The level operator can then view the scenery in comfort.

Rex, I forgot a '0'. it's a 1000mm lens. (500 mirror on Olympus 4/3rds. plus a 2x. so basically it makes it a 2000mm!! JUST DON'T BREATH WITHIN A YARD OF IT, THE SHAKE WILL BE HORENDOUS).

Allways got a hi-vis in the boot.
