There are plenty of sites (non-bookable) around Francorchamps.  Avoid the one behind the hotel, as they will rip you off, good and proper!  But there are no proper facilities in many of them - however, they are cheap and cheerful.  We will certainly be going back to our favourite one for the 24 hours, which is on the hill above the main entrance - at night we could see about 6 different bits of the circuit from there.  But it is very basic - though at 8 euros a night, who's complaining?

Can you really just turn up and get on one of these sites?  I'd need somwhere that had a wateer tap, and somwhere to drain the chemical toilet.

cheers

There is temporary camping at Les Combes for the 24 hour race.

My slight concern about LMS is that it's a smaller event and it's early in the year and I wonder if all of the camping areas will be open?   It might also be frigging nasty weather!

I don't think we've every camped for LMS, last time I went it was later in the year I think and last time KK went it was awful weather, very cold and very wet - can't remember which year and what time of year though?

No loos or anything like them in the place I mention (I've never been to the LMS race but many of the car parks take tents too - and there are loads of them - so I don't think there'd be a problem; at least some of the makeshift sites - including Malmedy etc - should be open.)  The site I mention which is a rip-off (8€ a day for a small tent, add another 8 for a big tent plus another 8 for your car, plus extra for power and water....) does have better facilities, but my you pay!  On balance Eau Rouge or Spa D'Or (which runs a shuttle service to the circuit) are probably better if you need more than the basics.

Been going to the LMS race for a while now and I can't seem to remember that there is any camping around the track for this race at all. Best bet is to go to a non racing campsite like eau rouge or Spa d'or.
