Thinking of following the LMES to Spa this year.  Info on the web seems rather disjointed.  Anyone know the best way to get tickets, book camping etc?

Tickets can be bought at the gate without a problem. Camping is another thing, DfH was used to a hostel nearby, but that is already fully booked. Maybe Camping Eau Rouge is opened, but Piglet has more experience with them.

Hi, we stay at http://www.eaurouge.nl/index_en.htm the facilities are good'ish, they sell beer and chips!  It's on the Stavelot road, part of the old circuit which goes into the Karting entrance to the circuit.   We normally have a media pass so drive in, Rick etc. who had to walk it last year reckoned it was an hour from Eau Rouge camping to the bottom of Eau Rouge so it is a bit of a trek.  That was for the 24 hour though, I imagine for LMS you could probably buy parking in the main carpark so you could drive back and forwards, plus you can always drive up the road nearer to the karting entrance and park or do the same at Les Combes - this would get you closer.

Termie recommends http://www.campingspador.be/ardens/english/welcome_to_camping_spa_d%27or!/ I haven't stayed here and it is further from the circuit (but maybe not much difference if you are planning to drive).

Maybe Camping Eau Rouge is opened, but Piglet has more experience with them.

So did others at the Spa24 last year.
I have scanned their map to show where they are compared to the track:

LOL @ Paddy  Grin

You have to be a bit careful at the campsite, there seemed to be a bit of a problem with people driving over tents  Grin

I'll also go to Spa this year - Saturday-Sunday. Are there trackside campsite options - closer than the Eau Rouge Camping?
If more CAers are going may we can all meet Saturday night for a belgian version of the poo bar meeting Grin

Cheers

There is some holiday resort in the neighborhood, Knetter was going to try to reserve a house for 6 for DfH.

PooBar-rehersal sounds great. On top of Eau Rouge again, or in the village?

There are plenty of sites (non-bookable) around Francorchamps.  Avoid the one behind the hotel, as they will rip you off, good and proper!  But there are no proper facilities in many of them - however, they are cheap and cheerful.  We will certainly be going back to our favourite one for the 24 hours, which is on the hill above the main entrance - at night we could see about 6 different bits of the circuit from there.  But it is very basic - though at 8 euros a night, who's complaining?

Sounds perfect, we need it anyway just for one night - I can survive this without a shower Cool

@Patrick: Belgian poo bar meeting: What about saturday evening in the paddock? And Part II on sunday at the Eau Rouge hill station - some lunchtime beers Grin
