Is that a 'Four Sprung Duck Techique?

Lovely motor, and in exceptionally good shape.

Out of interest (and with no regard for the general idea of this thread  Grin ) how much would one of those go for?

£3k would buy you a lot of work
£4-6k would buy a 10-valver that needed slight tidying.
£6 - 10k would buy a very very good / mint 10 -valver.
£20k would buy a mint 20-valver from someone who wanted every last penny from the sale.

These prices , like all classics, do vary.

It is a minefield......if you really fancy one get on the owners forum and see what the pro's and cons are and what to look for.

Then see the bank manager and insert smile on face. Grin

Not yet got round to finishing off with the stripes, badges and rings. In fact I may leave them off for a bit!! They may be on for Le Mans, not sure yet, I'll see if it needs them or not.
Is the paint on yours a standard colour Leftie. It looks superb, what year is it, mines an '84 done 220k miles only !!

Only one thing to say to you guys,

GITS ! (Lucky Gits!)

One, day, one day, I will finally have one of those sat on my drive !

Not quite the same but i can kinda relate to the bare metal restoration job. Currently building a 1/24th model of the Audi R8 road car and messed up the paint job this afternoon. Just spent several hours stripping it down back to bare plastic again for another go at painting it. Total ball ache and time consuming.

Gordon, fabulous motor mate, I'm jealous.

BTW, the red one is not mine (I wish).

Gordon,
That 1984 WR belongs to 'Wor Kid'.
It done about 62k but hasn't really done any serious miles in quite a few years since it was repainted in a (like yours) glass-out back to metal respray.
Stays in the garage, gets a run around the estate once in a while if it's lucky. He's fortunate enough to have 'other toys'.
The paint colour is genuine VW/Audi although not a colour ever used on the Quattro.

Happy to help.

Gordon, that is one mean car and I'm very jealous. Only a word like, but I'm not sure you'll get through an MOT test with those number plates. They've got very hot on having the correct font, as indeed have the police round here. Those plates are a guarantee tug from the BiB in Brighton.

They seem to pass you where we live Andy as me and my friend passed with German style pressed plates but the Police don’t seem to care about that fact!

Cheers Andy, I have another set that I used at MOT time but I know what you mean! As Kev said they don't seem to bothered round here but time will tell.
Cheers for the comments, it's taken a lot of hard work to reach that condition and at times I felt like giving up especially when all you do is cut loads of rotten metal out for ages !!
