take a word of advise from an old 'pro' set everything to auto and start taking photos, when you've got a grip of that gradually start changing the programme settings and build up to a totally manual setting. As you intend to use at LM? Get it into speed priority and understand how that works to either freeze the car and blur the background or freeze the background and blur the car. that will throw up some other issues, thats lesson two and a few cold Leffes will unlock the password for that part of the lesson Cheers FS im going to watch the GT series / VW cup at oulton park in a few weeks to practice other than that the main road will have to do for now as my aim is to get it ready for Leman and the dunlop bridge (see below for the phones attempt!)

freeze the car and blur the background or freeze the background and blur the car. I find that blurring is easy enough to achieve!... its the inclusion of an actual car of any sort rather than just fencing and tarmac that I struggle with!! F

F That's why I use video - much easier to get a car in the picture Kev if you'll be at OP, I'll ask KK if he's got some time to chat to you. His website is www.gtphotosport.com I think Rick is going as well and I'm sure he'll help you out.

Peter, did you use your tripod when you took the two small videos of your avatar If you did I would say it's just about right.

Kev if you'll be at OP, I'll ask KK if he's got some time to chat to you. His website is www.gtphotosport.com I think Rick is going as well and I'm sure he'll help you out. Yeah ill be at OP buddy shall be on top of a van no doubt but if he can spare a minute or 2 for me ill really appreciate it couple of things to mention here, I forgot my partner in Crime Mr Brown, he comes cheap BUT has a ferocious Leffe appetite, so bring along enough Leffe money and a few scraps for his cat Felix. Looking at the shot with the fence, you can make fences 'invisible' by shooting very close to them, so give it a go in your backyard. I wouldn't recommend a school or park playing area with kiddies, you may get arrested. For being a perve as you seem to be by getting a Canon. The other issue is if you intend using a tripod? Just recently Plod has gone a bit anti tripod and have seized photographer's kit, just a word to the wise. They can't do it and the photog gets a nice apology at the end and for some reason loads of shots from the PoliceMans Ball Leave the ASA setting in auto for the time being, your big bruvvers will explain that when you've all growed up couple of shots showing the effect of making fences 'invisable', the first not close enough and the second just about right. Sorry about the crap on the image, old slide from the early 70's. well ive got a tripod off my mum which im sure will be fine to use ill test it out tonight when I get in. as for the settings im leave them as they are to confusing at the moment. I understand different parts from reading the manual and testing but “AUTO” will be left as they are. Well done Kev, I have a Low Pro Case available which will keeping your EOS nice and safe..... that's if your interested in spending a few more shillings PM sent J
