At Drinking for Holland, we're working on the Charity Funds again for the 13th of June. Last year various people helped us gather interesting items for the Friday Charity, and we'd like to ask people to help us out again. Have you got (personal) contacts with teams or drivers, then please do what you can to make this a succes again.

We do have some plan at the moment to maybe do some items via eBay, but that's all early days at the moment. We'll keep you posted about those plans.

Please let us know if you can help. Thanks!

Hi Paddy,

As promised, I will get a good picture of the Corvette blown up from one of my photos from either Petit or Sebring and get it signed by the Corvette drivers or team whilst at Sebring. I will then get it framed and donate it to the auction.

Some advice, get something together on paper about the auction and the charities and then speak nicely to the teams at Sebring. They are in my past experience very accomodating as i collected items for another auction that benefitted the British Marshalls club.

Johnny O Connell donated a pair of boots which were then signed by all the Corvette drivers, ( I bought these and they are sat on my TV !)
Max Papis - A signed visor and gloves
James Weaver - signed gloves and boots,
Andy Wallace - gloves and boots, and visor,
Aston Martin - Goodie bag with t shirt, signed cap and flag,
Cadillac - signed t shirts and posters,
Audi - flag signed by the winners at Sebring (First diesel win)

I also donated David Brabhams podium hat that i managed to catch after the podium celebrations. Got it signed and added to the other items.

That was just from asking nicely at Sebring so give it a try.

Too small for my feet, but thats not the point. Who would want to wear a pair of Simpson shoes signed by O Connell, Fellows, Papis, Gavin, Berretta and Magnussen.

Hi Paddy, we've got a Brands WTCC poster signed by Andy Priaulx from his winning weekend last year.

It might be better ebayed as it's perhaps not aimed at a sportscar fan market?

I'll have a dig and see what else we can find, I'll also collect at any meetings we've got before June.

Forgot?  Shocked  We were only talking about this last week in Nijmegen!  Mind you there was mass consumption of beer so I'll let you off - just this once.    Wink

We could start doing the rounds on Sebring as early as wednesday, when all is not so busy yet for the teams. Then do another on thursday and Friday to get the most out of it.

Could we not write to the teams now explaining who we are and what we're doing then go and meet them while we're there.  Just a thought...

Thanks Roy - I have them every now and then.   Grin

Anyway - any idea when the final entry list is released (or has it been and passed me by)?

In the meantime I'll work on putting a letter together.  If anyone has anything they think would add substance to the letter please PM me with ideas.

I was thinking along the same lines there Doris and wanted to draft something. We defo have to mention the charities we collect money for (duhh) but I think we need to deposit CA as a structured fan based organization, traveling the world to watch endurance car racing.
Might also be worth mentioning that we produce a guide to Le Mans as a group effort and send a copy of that with the letter, or link to the website. Maybe it is also noteworthy to tell them who contributed last year to the fundraiser? And of course how much we raised for the charities.

I will be happy to assist you in this matter, so if you want my help just shout!!

Last year the list was published on 27th Feb.
