On my 2 previous trips to Le Mans I have flown from Leeds Bradford Airport to Paris, & then via TGV to Tours to stop with my parents(Thursday before race until Thursday after race) who live 50km south of Le Mans. Then my dad & I go to the race on the Saturday.

This year I want to see something more than just the race, so to do that I would like to camp from the Thursday until Sunday rather than ask my dad to come up on Thursday & Friday.

Do I need a camping pass as I will have no vehicle?

No Ade - you only need a camping pass to get a vehicle in.

I would suggest you aim for one of the sites that is unnumbered - HA, Expo etc., as if you go to a site with numbered pitches, you'll get thrown off.  Unless you are going to camp with someone you know.

Thanks Del.

No I won't be camping with someone I know, so it looks like turn up & wing it Wink

Enough CA'ers on HA - come and join us.  Presumably you won't need much space.

Just look for the CA flag(s)

I was going to say the same Ade, we have room to squeeze a tent onto our pitch on Bleu (I know the Liverpool Boys will be there too.)  And I can provide a tent, no need to bring one with you.  Up to you.

Hi Debs,

Thanks for your kind offer, it is much appreciated. I am willing to pay toward pitch costs etc.

I'll have to look out for a table & some chairs again Grin

Great, see you there.  This time you won't be in the middle of a desert on Sunday night either!!!

D*mn - I left the table at Silverstone. Smiley

Hopefully it will be a tad warmer & drier. At least those bl**dy geese won't be there to wake me up at sunrise, only V8's & V12's.

dazv12,

Thanks very much for your offer, but I have already booked my flights for 12 June out & 20 June return. As you will see from my initial post I also visit my parents and am already committed to these plans.

Hi Debbie,

You will end up as CA's foster Mum at this rate, remember our Canadian last year?

As we use our camping spot so little, it just seems a waste for the thing to sit empty for days.  Besides, Ade and I have already spent a slightly wierd evening together on an empty campsite at Silverstone (when he perloined said furniture which somebody else had left behind - I having had my own chair nicked) so I owe him a seat at least!

Deb/Deborah NEVER Debbie! Wink

Sorry about the Deb***, I slap my wrist.
I remember the reserved vacant plot senario,

Don't say the Pikies have found Silverstone as well, good to hear you were temporarily recycling the stuff left

Someone must have a lot of tables - I 'lost' one at Silverstone as well.
