A good weekend had by all (still being had by some - Yes I'm a wimp, I could have stayed, but the thought of more tropicoma was enough to make me gag from Saturday....)

A selection of some of the photos I took of some of the track action - first time in a while that I've taken my camera, and actually watched a race without peering through a viewfinder for the entire time - managed to limit my photos just to key moments...which is nice....

A good result in the sprint, was followed by an excellent feature race, which was exciting all the way through...
Thanks to Rick, the Dutch guys, Doris, JPC (for not snoring loud enough to wake me up! - which is kind of ironic really)  and everyone else for your hospitality and help - Look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks time

I've lost track of the number of formulii over the last few years as F1 became boring.

Although I've heard of this series, are they F3000 cars?

I might get interested again as it looks exiting.

Nice to see slicks on a powerfull open wheeler though.

Zytek powered Lola chassis, all the same, with a power boost button which adds about 40bhp but is limited to a certain number of uses per race.  This year they push about 550bhp, next year they'll be closer to 750.  The thing with them is that the engine note that they make around Brands is enough to send shivers down your spine - it's like watching F1 cars flying into paddock hill bend, because of the natural bowl that is Brands Hatch.

Next years cars are being designed and built by ferrari, and I believe the plan is to remove some of the aerodynamic downforce, and replace it with mechanical grop - so I think its going to be F1 type cars (rumoured to be like last years f2007) the way they'd be if F1 wasn't full of stupid regulations, ie full sized slicks, cars which slide around the corners, etc....

All in all, next years A1GP series should be even better - today was pretty exciting though, the noise from the fans was excellent when Kerr emerged from the pits to take the lead....

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

Yeh, where were you? You never finished what you started at Donington. You could have distracted the fun police away from asking  the Dutchies to turn the music down on Saturday night.

EDIT.  Bloody hell this server is fast

We were pitched up towards the rear of the site, one row (if you could call it that) away from the treeline, about 100ft in from the main 'track'.  Saw Rick on the Friday evening as we nipped off site to get some provisions, hit the Kentagon on Friday and then Saturday got invited to a neighbours tent for burgers and beer.

The flagpole was out with all the Corvette flags so we should have been easily spotted.
