I've only got a couple, which are fairly poor quality (camera phone)

Does anyone have a hi - res pic I can get a copy of? Or alternatively can anyone direct me to the supplier of a reasonably priced poster of said car.

Oh, the Wallace, Dumfries, Lammers car is preferable (can't think why)

How strange. Can somebody explain how the British Law works against tobacco sponsoring? McLaren have removed all Marlboro advertisements of their old cars, al cars at the Donington Museum have been removed of all tobacco advertising, and now I see a Silk Cut Jaguar picture at the Brum-motorshow. Or has Silk Cut gone bust?

I used to have a large airbrushed poster of this car many years ago and as you mentioned those drivers, their names where on the bottom of the poster as well. Don't think i have it any more though. I have plenty of good hi res shots of the car from Goodwood. E mail me at csc24@blueyonder.co.uk and i will happy send you the best ones.

I believe it is still permitted for 'historical' reasons ie. the car has not been repainted / reliveried since tobacco sponsorship was outlawed. Also, to all intents and purposes it's a museum exhibit now. I don't think you could build a replica for show purposes.

Still bloody gorgeous though.

Now, where did I hide those fags? Wink

I was talking to the chap on this stand and was asking about the Group C race at Le Mans, and he was telling me that they are still having discussions with the ACO. The Porsche 962 owners are saying that they can't run a 1 hour race distance without needed a fuel stop, but the ACO won't allow refuelling in the support race.

Either the 962's will have to turn down the turbo boost and thus loose lots of power, or the ACO will have to allow them to refuel in the race. Another alternative is to run two 30 minute races instead.

Also talking to the manufacturers from the day, to see if they can get them to bring out some old factory cars to either race or do demo laps or start at the rear and come in after the first lap. Also going to drag a few out the Musuem to do the same, like the Mercedes etc.

I have quite a few but not necessarilly #2 and they are fairly hi res and taken at Silverstone Classic last year. I'll post the links to them later today.

No it was a very short race, about 25 minutes.

For the same reason as above, ACO wouldn't allow refueling in the race pits for the Group C cars.

It was a bit frustrating for those of us who had not seen Group C in action before.

The young Brad had his picture taken sitting on the wing of the XJR9 in (in think) about 93 at the autosport show for a local biringham rag, never got a copy, awsome car though love to see it at LM in all its glory.

I don't think they would be too bad, the panel's hinged, and the 'vent' is in the right place for the wheel nut when the car's off the ground.

The panel was clipped on, and came off in a fraction of a second.  Dzus fasteners or something similar
