Family Muz will probably go, normally Sunday for us.  But it grieves me that they charge for carparking for this event, and not for most other events.  I presume they figure that people are gullible enough to pay  Angry

We go to the last live action arena show of the day, the two hour oval racing show, and usually get away afterwards without paying for the car parking as the attendants have usually gone home by the time the 2 hour show is over. Grin

Chris

might be bad news for you, last time i went to a wembley event, they made you pay as you went into the carpark. Not sure wot the cost is now (bound to be arm & leg & other parts of the body as well)

I was at the Classic Car Show at the NEC last month and they stung us £10 for the parking.  Pay at a booth on the way in, manned barrier on the way out.  Miles to walk, plus it was expensive to get in too.

To avoid paying the parking fee.

Drive up to a gate where only one barrier out of two is working and only one attendant is in the booth.

When you get to his window make a fuss and refuse to pay and then turn off you engine and wind up your window.

You will soon see a queue of others behind you. This will put pressure on the guy to open the other barrier. trust me he will as he will think he is calling your bluff.

But as you are blocking his window he will either have to get out and walk to the cars behind to collect the tickets or switch booths. They have always left the power on and the keys to operate the barrier in place.

As soon as he is further away from the booth your parked next to than you, nip out of you car and into his booth, press the 'up' button and the barrier will rise.  (If you get a chance when the barrier is up, remove the key, this will really screw him)

Drive like the wind.

Lorry, at the Classic Car Show at the NEC I paid £8 for parking and had a free bus to the hall and a free bus back again.

I'm glad I didn't park where you did!

I know the NEC is expensive parking but the car park is well policed and under video cover and I haven't had any interference with my elderly Midget any time I have parked there. And as a bonus this year the guy let us out of a different gate to the IN gate and we were all off-site within a minute or two, as opposed to the long gas guzzling crawl back to the Motorway junction using the into site road. People on that looked to be getting ready to camp all night...

To put that into perspective I parked in a town centre car park in Walsall last week 40 pence per 15 minutes of stay!

I was at the NEC all day for the Classics. Smiley

Bill

(Oh yes also at the NEC last week, I was a guest of the crew for the Quo concert, parked in the £8 car park again, paid £3.50 for a bottle of weak but cold lager and saw Quo live for the first time [ever so good] then went home and found we'd won a fortune on the lottery. Cashed the ticket and had a great Saturday night out for a net cost of £1.50)

I kinda like the NEC-ish!
