Marius,

All the postings above cannot be expanded to show my shock and sadness at this news. Below is a famous verse that I hope will give some comfort to both of you.

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the Lord.

Across the dark sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed
two sets of footprints in the sand,
one beloning to him and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the
very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life there is
only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most
you would leave me."

The Lord replied "My precious, precious child,
I love you and would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffereing,
when you see only one set of footprints in the sand,
it was then that I carried you."

Live for every second that you are together.

Jerry

If anyone wants any more information on the Anthony Nolan Trust, or even to become a donor, the Trust is a great starting point. http://www.anthonynolan.org.uk/  I hope there's a Dutch equivalent too, if someone would like to post a link.
In Holland this goes through the bloodbank here's a link to the essentials http://www.europdonor.nl/index.php?id=79
For the Anglophones: http://www.europdonor.nl/index.php?L=1

We say life's a bitch until we find that it's over.
Then we cry wanting it to last.
But it don't.
And it won't.
And we know it.
And we are unable to do one damn thing about it.
And we cry some more.
And the tears are coming as I write and remember.

Terrible news Marius.

I have often wondered how things were going whenever I read one of your posts. Now I know.

Nothng else matters now, except the time you can still spend together.

You are both in my thoughts.
