As Bob U asked, and sorry for taking time to reply
Tom has had a very quite year this year, down to budget. We did have a run in a BMW M3 in a Britcar round, Tom qulifing 4.5 seconds quicker than the owner, but the motor overheated in the race so a DNF. Plus there was a bit of karting and entering Robin 's scooby in the Scooby Shoot Out were Tom came 13th out 49, most of the compition were ex rally cars and striped out 700bhp monsters, Tom's car had leather aircon and sat nav - but we did remove the spare wheel and the CDs!
2008 is looking far more promising. Tom should be driving a Ginetta G50 in the G50 Cup for Team GCR.
Team GCR is a new team set up by some time poster Norbert (Robin) and a few other backers. The G50 Cup is to support the British GT/F3 Championship, there should be a grid of at least 26 cars building up to 36. With only around 850Kg and a 300hp motor (Ford V6) it should be good fast close racing. Also this is the 50th annversary of the Ginneta Car Company, so there should be quite a buzz in the padock.
The exciting bit is that Team GCR car will be built to GT4 spec, which meens we are able to race in some of the classic 24hrs, so look out Spa!
I will keep you informed about the team and Tom's progress. If you are at any of the meatings look out for a dark green G50 with a an Orange stripe, please drop by and say hi, you might get a coffee.
Also if you know of anybody who may be intrested in getting involved, I am talking sponsership, please get in touch

For those of you who are interested ...
Tom got his first podium finish yesterday coming third in the second race at Thruxton.
Oh, and it was his 18th birthday as well so the champagne must have tasted very sweet.

You beet me to that Doris A very happy and emotional Tom on Sunday, he beat a Le Mans winner too!! I will get Keith/Robin or even Tom to post up a little report, as I was at Brooklands with Robins Bora, and missed it (not that driving an 1970's Italian Supercar was a real hardship, but I know were I would of rather been) Bobblehat

Hi there Well that is a season over, for Team GCR and Tom. Tom finished 5th in the championship - his first season in sportscars and only his 2nd full season in car racing. Finished off in fine style, fastest lap in the first race and with a podium in the final race at Donnington. Putting plans together for next year - another crack at the G50 cup, on the BTCC package, or GT4 - so if you could all have a look down the back of the sofa for any loose change!! Many thanks to all of you fellow CA'ers you have come along and supported Tom over the last year. Bobblehat
