A deal has been agreed with www.aferry that Club Arnage will receive a commission on all ferries booked through their web site.

To get to the site, use the following link:

http://tinyurl.com/33lzk8

Whilst Club Arnage cannot endorse the services of the agent, it is a simple and easy way – AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU – of helping Club Arnage continue to provide the service and enjoyment to you that it does.  So please consider using this agent – NOT DIRECT BUT VIA THE LINK - when booking your passage across the Channel for the Race and for any other journeys that you make.  Income generated this way will be identified separately on the Club’s Accounts.

EDIT:  Whilst this offer was made in good faith by the committee, it has been shown that the quotation(s) provided by this site are sometimes higher than those provided by the ferry companies' own web site(s), so please ensure you check this before making any booking.  If the prices offered are equal to or less than those from the ferry companies, then please use the link above.

I am aware that we have missed the boat (pun intended) on this for many people for LM2008, but for those that have yet to book, or for members booking other trips, give it a try.

Del

Mmmm, something's not quite right!  Undecided

Just used the link to get a like for like quote on a Brittany Ferries crossing over the Le Mans period. It's £44.24 more expensive using the link than it is going direct to Brittany Ferries!!!!

I haven't checked if this is the case with others (LD/Sea France/P&O etc.), but..................

I've just checked a BF crossing from Poole to Cherbourg at Le Mans time and BF quotes £392 compared to the link's £450.79

Ldlines quotes the same price as the link but then their booking service is run by aferry.to

I understand you're only trying to be helpful Del but I would suggest removal of the link from above until this matter can be investigated further.

Edit - 09:46
Tried P&O and the link price matches. Looks like it may just be Brittany Ferries. No surprise there!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I've put a warning in the original posting, and will try to sort things out with aferry.to.

One of these days I might happen on a hassle-free project   Cry Cry

Why doesn't this surprise me.

Brilliant idea though.  Shame I'm already booked

Not sure I can get them to change their pricing, it's a commercial operation after all. I will mail them anyway to highlight teh discrepancies. In the meantime I think we just need to be careful to check around before booking.

Booking Speedferries through them, while cheap at £70 return, is still about £25 more than booking direct

It's that time of year again, we're making plans  Grin

Just done a check, aferry.to comes up with PO-Caen at £614 on BF.
BF direct comes up with £534 AND I can get 5% discount on that (=£507).
That's 21% more with aferry.to!!!!!

Sorry chaps, would like very much to put a few bob in your coffers through commission, but I ain't prepared to be RIPPED OFF! Angry

Maybe it does work out better for some crossings, but for my crossing it looks like CA and it's supporters are being exploited!

Not being in possession of all the background stuff, I may have got the wrong end of the stick, but I would expect prices to be a LOT closer if not actually a match.

As we have a member of this organisation amongst us, I'm sure all feedback will be passed on.

Probably time to de-sticky the thread, at least until we understand it better.
