On my way home tonite I saw the most unusual undercover car I have seen yet.... Mazda MX5, Not new shape, in Black with the lights behind the tiny grille, top of windscreen and in the back window. Not what you expect to see on a Friday after work on the M27!!!!! Anyone seen anything similar?

A Subaru Impreza with the plate R1 2 HOT. Ready to race anyone that tried. They would then turn on the lights and make the arrest. It was run by Thames Valley Police on the M4 between Reading and Swindon.

Sorry, no unmarked known to me. Plenty of examples for marked 'unusual' police cars though. How about a Spyker... Or a Rolls... or this Enzo? Belgian police with a 911... Or how about a Viper in the states? or a Vette? Not so fast, but quite funny Is this driving around in the UK? plenty of choices

The image of the Metropolitan police car was a publicity stunt. They should however shown the bicycle cops as they are the fastest round London.

Will be until the Banger Racers steal it one night! "Mk2 Granny... Good Banger!" Cant slate em too much though... Got £80 for a rolling 300c estate shell that was rotten to hell and had been totall stripped of everything. Know anyone that needs 300c spares.... got a full shed of em! Breakin old cars for spares...... the only bits that you need are already broken and the shed stays full of scrap metal and things that no one else needs!

Essex Police used to have a Ford RS200 for motorway work, it was a developement car from Ford for evaluation.
Police at Swindon had two interesting cars at different times;
Daimler Dart (SP250) & and FHC E Type Jag.
In the 60's Glamorgan Police based at Merthyr had some Mini Mokes - bit drafty in winter!
More recently, I saw a photo of the electric 2 wheeled scooter thingy being evaluated, the one with front axle that requires you to ballance.

One of the Merthyr mokes is still in service down on the Blenheim estate and around Woodstock I believe- we saw one on the RAC in the late 90's. I might have a pic somewhere.

This fella looked a little embarrassed, in a sort of 'shall I arrest him or not' way, when I snapped this pic. I think he was on the way to the local bank, maybe there'd been a 'job', - if there had been then the lads would have had to get their timing spot on, - see the next pic. We're slowly building up a grid here, all we want now is a certain CA member with a chequered flag... H

Driving down the M40 yesterday afternoon I saw what looked like a dark blue Peugeot 407 coupe police car. No markings but flashing lights on the roof (not sure if they were flip-up ones) with a uniformed officer sitting inside. It looked a bit stealth like to me. He was sitting on the hard shoulder as he had a flat tyre
