Now that we're heading into winter, it's time for my hobby of modelling 1:24 racing cars to resurface, in particular modelling Le Mans winners. Having finished the last project (Sainz's WRC corolla - OK so I do WRC as well) ) and now that Revell have issued their 1:24 scale kit of the winning Audi R10 from last year, that's the next project. As usual, I'm going well beyond the detail supplied with the kit and (like with the Mercedes picture below), and whilst I have found plenty of good shots of the exterior of the car via Google, I can't find any good shots of the engine bay or cockpit from the race 2006. Does anyone have any shots that they could let me have, or point me to somewhere that has? PM me for email address if needed, ta,
MG Mark

Now, now chaps.....steady on there.... I'm after the said pictures, of the engine bay and cockpit, taken of the Number 8 Audi R10 that won the 2006 Le Mans race (as distinct from any other location that car raced at during the 2006 season) driven by Biela, Pirro and Werner. Ta, MG Mark

This is the best that I could find but it's for American Le mans, so actually it exactly what you DIDN'T ask for. Thankf for the electrics email too.

Gary, Thanks is still helpful as it is better than a couple of others that I have found, particularly for the wiring and injector runs. The R10s seem to have run with 2 versions of the air inlet boxes that sit atop the engine - one made from aluminium (like that picture) and the other made from carbon fibre, hence the reason for wanting one from the race itself, to work out whether I should be painting those parts aluminium or applying carbon fibre effect decals to them. And no problem re the electrics e-mail - let me know how you get on. MG Mark

This is from the 2007 car (yes, I know it's not 2006!) but may be a pointer at least as you were looking fro cockpit pics. Sorry it's a bit of a naff shot though.

No - thanks, that is really helpful, as it shows what the floor, the cockpit sides and the coaming under the right hand side look like! MG Mark
