Thanks Termie for all the work bringing CA together, sorry to hear about the hassle it has caused you.

Don't let the bastards get you down, is the phrase that springs to mind.

Sorry but not intentionally wishing to air the dirty washing...

Who has raised this problem?

What has happened in the course of duties of someone solely interested in the good of Club Arnage that has lead to your resignation?

I'd be very surprised if it was a long standing member (and very disappointed) but whoever it is, maybe I should have a chat with them  Angry

Rob : No dirty linen is going to be washed in public by me or, I am sure, any other members of the committee who have all behaved perfectly in this (apart from maybe one minor indiscretion for which I have received a proper appology.)  It would not be good for CA and is pointless.  But the committee has been elected and given full powers under a proper constitution.  When unelected members chose to undermine the elected body, then its credibility is destroyed.  I was not prepared to be a party to that.  That is all I am prepared to say on the subject in public.  Naming names would inevitably create factions, which is just bad for CA who don't deserve it.

Thank you to all for your very kind messages of support, both here and in private.  You are a great bunch of people and you deserve to be served by people whom everybody feels they can trust.  Evidently, to some eyes, that is no longer me.

I'll get my consentration on the guide, Werner!

I post this as an individual member of CA, but being a committee member, one with the (majority of) the facts leading up to Debs' resignation.

I endorse all of the sentiments posted by other CA members - her enthusiasm and ability to 'get the job done' are second to none, and she will be missed.

I also endorse all of Debs' own comments in her post above, and agree with her that there is no value in airing the dirty linen in public.

I will, rightly or wrongly, say one thing in public.  Debs was accused of being a liar.  I state quite unequivocally that this accusation is totally unfounded.

With hindsight, it is clear to me that, due to pressing timescales, insufficient thought was given to particular aspects of the exercise (I include myself in this) and hence the terms of reference given to others were not well enough defined.  Unfortunatley, personalities intervened and things rapidly escalated.  Debs felt she had been put into an untenable position, leading her to the decision to resign.

Lessons have been learned which hopefully will smooth the path of future projects.

Let this please be an end to any and all speculation on this issue, and for the good of CA as a whole, let's forget it, and get on with having some fun.

Can I respectfully suggest that too much has been said already about circumstances around Deb's resignation: or not enough.

A handful of people are obviously "in the know", most aren't.

I think keeping dirty washing private is entirely the right thing to do, so can we stop discussion alluding to the circumstances immediately please? (Unless those directly involved jointly decide that public debate is what is needed).

As this was my first visit to CA since Friday lunchtime, Debs resignation came as something of a shock. It's a great shame, as Deb had some great ideas, and the energy and time to pursue them. And lives conveniently close enough to the track to do favours for us. I'm sure she will continue to help and support the Club from the back benches. Thanks Deb!!
