Hi guys and gals

Just to let you all know that I have today, submitted my resignation as chair of the Club Arnage Fundraising Committee.

Recent decisions have been taken, following full consultation and agreement, as per our constitution, which certain members have been offended by.  Sadly, because a private message was passed on to a person to whom it was not addressed, although not personal in nature - but expressing doubts which I felt were important to air to the committee - I have been blamed for this (joint) decision.  Although I still feel that I was merely doing what we have been elected to do - ie protect the financial interests of the site and the members - and launching a debate which I feel it was important to have, I understand the feelings of the offended party and for that reason, I believe my position is now untenable.

Without the trust and support of members who have been here far longer than I, I feel it is only sensible to resign.  I will, however, continue to post as normal and help where I can.  I am not cut out for the grief and upset which this is causing me, it is not worth it.

At the moment, with a serious situation developing here in France as regards the future of our healtcare here, and possibly our ability to remain here, I have been very busy and losing sleep over this also.  It is too much for one person to take at the moment, and certainly not worth losing friends over.  Sorry, they're more important to me than my role on the committee.  I'm sure a stronger person than I will be able to do a better job at present, and hopefully one which is acceptable to all the members.

I wish the guys on the committee the best of luck for the future.

All the best,
Deb

EHH!

Sorry to hear that it's all fallen apart Debs.

Have I mis read your post???

I have no idea about what has gone on, but for goodness sake, this place is meant to be fun. People are doing things and putting themselves out, for no reward, but the pleasure and enjoyment of others.

Have things really got this bad?

It's getting more like PistonHeads every day!

Hope all works out Debs and thanks for the effort you have put in.

Deb,

Thankyou for the effort that you have put into keeping Club Arnage afloat over the past year.

Your work doing what is usually a thankless task is very much appreciated by a great many of us.

Sorry to hear about that Deb,

Thanks for your hard work in the commitee! At least with your (and the commitee's actions) you got to save this beautifull forum for all of us.

Deb, having just undergone a year in another club under such horrid conditions I wish you very well and don't blame you for stepping back from the heat.

People often misunderstand what was intended.

Have a well deserved rest and let's get on with LM next year.

As a nontakeparter, (Mostly for reasons already mentioned) I am grateful for the work you and the committee have done for CA already

Thanks for your touching comments.  I should just say, that there has been nothing but support from within the committee and the guys have been an absolute pleasure to work with.  You would not believe the amount of work they've done, behind the scenes.  This issue has absolutely nothing to do with them, and they have continued to support me.

Nobby, nail hit on head. This is supposed to be fun.

See you all next month. Smiley

Sorry to hear about this, putting in efforts which are non-apreciative by the odd one out is pretty bad.
The committee has done a great job, which includes you too. Thanks for that!

Sorry to her that Deb, but as has been echoed already, motorsport and the forum should be fun. I'm sure that your decision was not taken lightly so likewiae i'm aure it was the right decision for you. Regarding the healthcare - hope that sorts it's self too. I'm currently typing this reply from a hospital bed in Maidstone General (yes, that c-diff one!) having had some of the metal in my left leg removed this morning, so I can empathise that anything to do with health will weigh heavily on your mind.

See you next month in Rotterdam!

Didn't they teach you to never volunteer for anything!

Thanks though for your efforts. Maybe it'll seem different tomorrow...

Hi Deb,

also a big thank you from my side for your work in the comitte, sad to hear that this has come to an end now. Hope you will find time again to work with us on the CA guide next year, without your contribution the guide will be poor

As someone already wrote, this should be fun, keep it that way

Looking forward to have a beer (or two, or three, or four Grin Grin Grin) together with you next month in Rotterdam

All the best

Thanks Termie for all the work bringing CA together, sorry to hear about the hassle it has caused you.

Don't let the bastards get you down, is the phrase that springs to mind.
