For the last two years I've gone to The Race in a boring Diesel Skoka.
Since it'll be the tenth anniversary of my first trip I reckon I should go in something more fun...

The choices are...

1960 V8 Zodiac
289ci Hadrcore, Gassered, Straight tube front axle, 8" Ford rear, stripped out and no compromise... (Got there once without breaking down)

1977 MG Midget
Niceley restored, black, rubber bumper model...
(Back on the road after 9 years)

Or take the Skoda again......

Someone help, really want to take both but that would take weeks driving the first one 1k then going back to pick up the second one Grin

I'd say the Midget out of loyalty but it has to be the Zodiac. No competition really.
We need something to distract the police from the rest of us.

As the Hard-cored-ed Midget Driver I know round here (I have been every year since 2003 in mine!) it simply has to be...

The Zody!

But you could do the "small car on an  A-frame behind the big car" thing, like some Windybaygo people do. Smiley

I love it.
I always wanted a red and white 57 Chevy Nomad gasser, but who wouldn't.
Saves you taking a tent, you just sleep under the car. I do hope it's not noisy Wink

The first time I took her down a mate an I were sitting talking to two guys from Brum on the Saturday night of the race, Jon suddenly pipes up with, "Y'know Steve, looking at the exhaust pipes I reckon we could take them off in about 20 minutes".

"I reckon we could do it in about 3 minutes mate, they are only held on with 3 bolts on the header collectors and two bolts at the back." says I.

Three minutes and two 1/2" sockets later the pipes are on the floor and the Zody is on open headers and being run up.

At which point a Welshman pops his head out of his tent and says turn that f***ing thing off it's 4am and I don't want to hear a V8 at this time of the night... Just as the factory Corvettes went past... Grin Grin

Easy.  The MGA has taken me every year since '93 except for 2 years when I wasn't allowed to go.  Otherwise the NIKE principle applies.  Just do it.

Either of them.   But not the effing Skoda diesel please..........for phuq's sake.....take the Midget or the Ford.  It doesn't matter which, just have some pride please....

Being as I drive a '73 GT6, I'd say take the Midget, but, what the hell they are both BRITISH classics.
